My goal is to be onyx in Team Arena and Team Slayer.
Thing is, I usually play with randoms 90% of the time, and if we have a good game, I invite them. They join up usually 40% of the time.
My friends that play Halo and I know IRL are usually gold rank, so playing with them makes it harder to level up.
How hard is it to reach onyx with randoms?
Not criticizing you, but why do you care about rank? Why does it matter? Be specific. Are you trying to go pro? Do you stream? Do you just want the bragging rights?

I didn’t know you stream. thats pretty cool. I know the few times I have teamed up with communicating teammates we have destroyed the other team. But I’m only a platinum 1/2 player. Good luck on finding players.

Seems like the road stops at Diamond. =X
You have to get use to randoms and be good enough to compensate for their negative KD.

eh, I stream mostly for my friends. feel free to add me if you wanna play some arena or slayer.
I think the highest I got was a diamond 3 or 4 with randoms, then just got stuck every month as a diamond 2 since then. 
How about Champion in FFA? Don’t have to worry about bad randoms then.
It’s extremely hard to rank up solo.

seems too random. since Halo 2, I’ve never played FFA 
My best is Plat 6 first season. I didnt even know the ranking system then, if i knew i would’ve pushed that bit harder at the end of the month for diamond. Randoms should never draw with a team its ridiculous. I’m a team -Yoink!-. I’ve always played solo so if anyone needs a half decent team mate to rank up with, add me up.

Most of the time I get pretty good games, but my teammates are absolutely horrible. I’ve just given up on reaching Onyx in Team Slayer, because it’s not doable without friends. You can go 20-1 and still lose and be forever in Diamond Purgatory.
