Am I doing good?

Before the CSR system came out I stopped playing Halo 4 (personal reasons). But Yesterday I decided to play a few games with my friend and I did exponentially well for my first time playing in a long time.

It says that my CSR is 25. Is that good? I never had a CSR until yesterday because I stopped playing before the CSR system was released. So is getting a 25 on my first try good?

My CSR is 22 and I’m in the top 3 on my team (just about) every game, so I’d say so.

thanks, I left at a poor time and do not understand how the CSR system works or even how high it goes up.

No problem. Ofc, 22-30ish could just be bad and we’re playing with even worse people. :stuck_out_tongue:

Lol i get it. Btw I played all yesterday with a Nirvash Typ3 Zero on my team. Was that you by any chance?

(eureka 7 ftw)

Nope. I go by same name ingame.

25 is half of 50, so I guess its supposedly average. But like some of you, I usually end up as a top 3 player. I did manage to get to 30 and it seemed more difficult. But then…there really aren’t enough players to match your csr with properly. You may join a game with a CSR 10, and a CSR 37 or something like that.

CSR in what playlist? Every playlist has its own CSR. My CSR in Big Team Slayer is 50, but my CSR in Grifball is 1. To me, CSR doesn’t really mean anything and I don’t think it really has anything to do with skill. Let K/D and W/L ratios tell others how much skill you posses, not CSR.

Neither of which tell the whole story. I play a lot of objective, and pretty much completely disregard my K/D. As for W/L it’s entirely possible to make no mistakes and still lose.

You could always fuse the two together…

Detailed explanation of CSR

Basically, there are two types of CSR: individual and team.

Individual CSR rates you against the other players in a match based on your score regardless of whether you were on the winning or losing team. So even if your team lost, if you had the most points, you would be ranked higher than everyone else. If you quit or disconnect, you are treated as the lowest-scoring player. Playlists such as Big Team, SWAT, and Rumble Pit use individual CSR.

Team CSR rates you against the other players in a match based on whether you won or lost, regardless of individual score. Quits and disconnects are counted as losses. Playlists such as Capture the Flag, Team Doubles, and Team Throwdown use team CSR.

CSR is a better indication of skill than individual statistics such as K/D or W/L. This is because unlike individual statistics, CSR accounts for the skills of the other players. A 90% win rate or a 3.2 K/D mean nothing if you were playing against your neighbor’s cat.

i usually end up 1-2 on my team leaderboard as long as its team slayer but my CSR is 25-30 somewhere around there

I have a CSR of thirty two in SWAT and it’s infuriating, not because the opponents are getting harder but because my team mates are getting worse! I guess because I have a higher CSR the game thinks I can pull them up but when they’re only getting around five kills and a minus twenty K/D what am I suppose to do?

The problem is that they’re simply aren’t enough people playing this game for something like CSR to work, as somebody else has already pointed out it will often jump if it can’t find players of an equal or close to CSR resulting in really unbalanced matches.

25 is slightly above average I’d say.

Not a fan of how CSR works in CTF. I almost always play defense, go positive with K/D, score is in 1st 2nd or 3rd typically, get medals blah blah, but yet my team itself doesn’t win but maybe half the time. So it’s low, even though I bust my -Yoink- and do good. I hope they make it more individual again for 5.

Have you thought that maybe your inflexibility is the problem? If you “almost always play defense,” that means that you are “almost always” relying on your teammates to win for you (i.e. capture the enemy’s flag). Not that there’s anything wrong with playing defense, but I’m sure there have been times where you’ve sat at the base for a whole 60 seconds without seeing anyone. Perhaps that means it’s time to move up a little? Not only that, but when you do play defense, how many other teammates are defending with you? In a five-man team, three defenders leaves only two attackers. You may not lose, but you won’t win, either.

I apologize in advance if you take offense; I don’t mean to, especially because I have never played with you and am just conjecturing. I just like to exhaust every possible option before concluding that the game is flawed.
