Josh Holmes answered a very nebulous question earlier today on Twitter from a fan asking: “Will ALL Multiplayer a Experiences (in using Forge) require an active connection on Halo 5?” and he replied, “All multiplayer experiences in Halo 5 run on dedicated servers through Xbox Live, yes.”. Although he didn’t specifically say forge requires an online connection, he answered the question that forging while in multi-player does require an online connection, like the previous installments. Now as vague as the question & answer is worded, there’s a possibility I might be wrong. If anyone has evidence that confirms it requires an online connection, please name your sources below.
Let’s not assume things. When you make assumptions… well you know what happens. If he didn’t explicitly state forging solo will require a constant internet connection, we can say that’s it’s just inconclusive and hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. (I realize I’m a massive hypocrite for saying this after making a thread over the whole campaign length debacle. But everybody makes mistakes. Everybody has those days.)
I lack any evidence, but from what i think, it most likely won’t. His answer may have been quite vague, but I think it was enough to correctly assume forge wont need an online connection.

Yea there is no answer yet so no point in getting in peoples hopes up based on speculation.
Sometimes, people just don’t ask the right questions. Why in the world would you word the question like “Will ALL Multiplayer a Experiences (in using Forge) require an active connection on Halo 5?” when in fact you want to know if SOLO FORGE will require a connection?

They should just state is forge/customs online only. Josh Holmes is also very vague with his responses its like if you don’t completely say it he will just respond yep pretty much without saying that forge is also offline.
The question is probably worded poorly for what the inquirer wanted to know, which is would Forge, in general, require an internet connection, but he explicitly used the word “multiplayer”, which goes without saying would warrant to need for an internet connection.
