Always get the complete and utter people

On my team. Why why always on my team, they don’t even shoot there gun.

Same here. It’s almost comedic at this point.

My buddy and I go +5 and +7 each, and our two randoms go -11 and -8.

It’s mainly because of the low population now. There are basically two types of players playing now. The die hard fans who love Halo and are pretty good at it and willing to put up with the issues still affecting the game and then there are the new players who just started playing Halo with mcc and don’t really know how to play and don’t understand that halo, especially in multiplayer has a higher learning curve than most other multiplayers. For example in a btb match I heard a player asking how do you switch weapons how do you pick up weapons and what not. They said that they never played Halo before. I was like really? You never played the game and you jump right into multiplayer? And a multiplayer that plays different depending on which Halo gets voted for… then in a rumble pit game I heard a player saying they didn’t understand and how come they couldn’t seem to kill anyone. They said just threw a grenade and it exploded and they other guy didn’t die I don’t get it. I guess they were expecting an easy kill like COD… New players don’t understand you can’t just jump into multiplayer and be any good.

I swear the people who go -20 are not born with thumbs or the gift of sight.

That would drive me over the edge.

To true

Well, I’m one of those guys of whom you speak, although it isn’t because I’m really all that bad at the game, but because I’ve become obsessed with the ranking system. With my low frustration threshold, I find it very easy to lose interest in random and meaningless matches of team slayer. But now, even if the match at hand no longer interests me, I have the ranking system to occupy my curiosity. Lately I’ve decided to see just how far up the rank ladder I can go without actually doing much of anything in the game. I’m not saying I won’t kill a guy if he walks right in front of me, but mostly I’m just wandering around the maps and taking in the scenery. And mostly my teams are still winning. I’ve hit 10 in Halo 4 ranked, and who knows how much farther I can go being carried by under-ranked team mates?

And sadly this isn’t even close to being the signature example of the failure of Halo ranking systems. Not. Even. Close.

Please stop complaining. You clearly aren’t that good, and this issue has been gone over time and time again. Search in a 4, or accept that the searching is like it is on every other game which doesn’t have a skill based search system.

The Guys that go -20 I give negative feedback like unsporting also block them so I never get matched with them again and lose with them again

I find this to be insulting to the blind and thumbless. Heck, I had a coworker who was missing his left arm/hand below the elbow. Despite this he came to our store’s game night with his robotic prosthetic arm and was able to kick butt with it in the MCC local games we had. He was especially deadly on Hang Em high with the God pistol. So he wasn’t thumbless, he had one real one and one robotic. Point being even the thumbless are potentially better than these noobs you speak of. Heck, give a blind person a seriously good surround sound headset and I bet they’d still do better than a lot of the fully able new people who play this game. Don’t underestimate the “disabled”. They kick butt

Same here. All day. Every Day. Every Game.

All thanks to this awful Halo 4 that made people bad and bring us the mainstream guys.

Yeah, I’m not that great but no scrub and 9/10 times games are like this for me. I can’t remember the last time I went even slightly negative and the team I was on won. I have a cousin who plays now that H5 is coming up; other than that everyone I know who’s good at Halo plays Destiny so its though lone wolfing in team games.
I think either MM is broken or population is not balanced because I usually either go +15 through +10 or -3 through -5. I have 1 in 15 games probably that is actually a, “wow that was intensely competitive game” experience. Most of the time either we smash people, or I go extremely positive and we eek out the win, or I go negative and we get smashed because at least half of my team went extremely negative. I still love Halo but I find myself more motivated to play Dying Light or watch GoT or Walking Dead recently sadly.

Occasionally I have these games on MCC where I drop a huge neg bomb. I’m not a pro by any means but I’m also not terrible. In some games, however, I literally cannot get a shot to register. I get three shot killed by 4-5 shot weapons. Almost every opponent has at least a 1 shot lead on me. So why I’m tempted to accuse team mates of being terrible, I’ve come to realize that network performance is so bad in MCC that you really don’t know what’s going on. It may just be unfair for some people.

I just stumbled upon this tread.
Hi, I am an Halo estimator.
I never owned an XBOX untill this February for a lot of reasons, but I’m not here to tell you the story of my life… well, not the whole story…
I used to play the PC version of Halo Combat Evolved for 12 years or so, I don’t play like a pro but I can easily kick the majority of butts I face… but I can no longer play Halo CE on PC because I want to make up for the time I’ve lost.
Halo is THE Game and I unfortunately played Halo 2 and 3 on my friend’s XBOX 360, but I never played their multiplayer versions because here in Italy connection used to suck and XBL was f*****g expensive for him.
Now I have a decent 20Mb connection and a XBOX ONE, my K\D ratio is horrible and I get frequently insulted with phrases like “you totally lost this game to us, do not ever dare to play again, you idiot!” and so on.

I play 2/3 hours per day, I do my best to improve my skills but it all seems so useless.

What I’m trying to say is: instead of hating me/us, why don’t you give me/us helpful tips? why don’t you create a tread for those who are new to Halo?
You are the Senior Gamers, you should inspire us with your feats, you should guide us into this unforgettable experience. You should be like fathers, teaching to their sons to recognize what is good and what is bad.

But I’m getting too Romantic.

You cannot blame the community if it’s growing in the wrong way! YOU are the core of the community, those who write the rules!
You say that the new players are like uber-noobs.
That’s because COD -and all of its spawns- is out there, simple, lusty and ruinous! I too used to play COD MW1/2/3 with friends because it’s user friendly, that sh*t it’s far too easy to play!

YOU should train the new players giving them suggestions.
WE should try to learn.

By the way, if you will ever play with me in Halo:MCC you would istantly recognize me as the one who say “guys I’m sorry but I suck at Halo 2/3/4”, but one day I hope to be once again the one who screams “let’s kick som -Yoinks!- guys!!!”.

P.S. I’m sorry for my terrible English, but (more or less) I am a self-taught.

EOm

This. I have had games where I’ve landed a headshot with the sniper on a player, blood has come out but they’ve just walked on without even having their shields broken. Other times it will draw blood, they’ll walk off down the corridor and the game will suddenly realise they should be dead so just inexplicably kills them and gives you a point.
The games connectivity issues are irritating and they seem to just be completely luck of the draw. Sometimes my mate will be completely fine and I’ll be -Yoinked!-, sometimes the other way around, sometimes it’ll be good and other times you’ll land four shot with the BR only to realise the game has decided that your shots didn’t count

Other times, it’ll just randomly black screen you; yesterday a guy on our team got black screened at 10:43 minutes and couldn’t get back in until 6:57 minutes, so we were a player down for just under 4 minutes

Its a joke.

Don’t fret mate; Just ignore people hating on you, they were newbies once as well, they just don’t want to admit they once did crap.

Tips depends a lot on what game you need. Throwing up a thread on here will usually get you positive responses. Here are a few things that might help :stuck_out_tongue:

If you only played CE, then the biggest thing you need to know is that the weapon they introduced in Halo 2, the Battle rifle, is king in Halo 2 and 3. If you can get your hands on a BR, place three -Yoink- anywhere on them and then place the fourth in their head; It’ll break shields and wipe them. In Halo 3 you have to lead your shots with it to hit, which will take some time to get used to but once you have it down you’ll be thankful you took the time to get better with it because the BR rules.

Practice grenade one shots (Throw a grenade, play a BR round into them, should take them down I your grenade was close enough) because they will seriously help you in wiping out people before they even get a chance to realise they’re being attacked

In Halo 2 Classic (but not Anniversary) learn the button combo’s. You can do some pretty nasty stuff with it, such as double melee. It’ll vary depending on your button layout, but the button combos are damn good if you can get them down. My personal favourite is BXR; It allows you to melee, cancel the melee animation cool down and follow up with a single shot to the head, killing them instantly. Remember that it only works if your magazine is full though, if you have fired it you’ll just start reloading

If you can get your hands on a sniper and BR in a match and someone challenges you, then body shot with the sniper, switch to the BR and clean them up.

Try out other control schemes. Bumper jumper is a good one; It’ll take a while to get used to, but it’ll mean you don’t have to take your thumb off the stick to jump, meaning you can keep aiming while jumping.

edit: And most importantly, don’t give up. Just ignore them when they insult you or mute them. As someone who did so well on CE, I’m sure you know that Halo takes time to get good at. Eventually you will get better, it just takes time.

If anyone needs an extra player to team up with when they’re on hit me up. I’ve played Halo for years and am wanting to get back on it. It’s been a little while since I’ve played but am looking for people to party up with. So throw me a FR “Naturally SLeeK” if you are down to party up.
