Alternatives to MTX in MCC

The community has said they don’t want MTX in MCC. If 343 has to monetize parts of the game, here are my suggestions for paid DLC, which would be much preferred:

  • Halo 3 Map Pack with the remaining Halo Online maps
  • 343 confirmed that they have the Halo 2 E3 demo, maybe port it to Halo 2’s engine or get it working somehow as a standalone singleplayer mission
  • More Halo 2 Anniversary Maps
  • New FF maps; either existing locations from the campaign or entirely new maps
  • Halo CE FF. This is in here because if modders can do it fairly easily, then 343 should be able to do it too.
  • Halo 3 was originally slated to have FF but it was cut… maybe make Halo 3 FF and sell it as DLC?
  • Any new maps or modes for any games in the collection

I would have paid for flood FF. And I’d pay for any of these things as DLC. I really hope they choose not to add MTX.

Where are the playlist changes?

Fiesta,Grifball,Recon Slayer,Escalation Slayer,Rocket Race on rotation is not fun.

Multi-team? There was a forge-driven playlist once? Give us Rocketball in H3 Action Sack, push the envelope in some way?

They STILL have Paralysis v1.0 broken in Halo 3 Action Sack. A simple gametype change would fix a map. But the bare minimum is impossible.

map packs are awful, they completely ruin matchmaking

they’re only bad if they’re paid fox. if they’re free and everybody gets them, they’re great

They’re only bad if the maps in question are ever meant to go to matchmaking, in a world where CGB exists, this isn’t a major problem anymore.

If they released a pack that was all the H2C maps that were cut (anchorpoint and the like), they would be best suited quarantined to CGB, since aside from one, they were all cut from matchmaking for the “right reasons” and would be more of a quirky thing for the community to experience and modify to their leisure.

Halo 3 is a different situation, since Reactor and Skybridge are ones that should be in matchmaking. however Halo Online maps have also always had a controversial split in the playerbase, as many feel the ones aside from Icebox should be kept only to the CGB instead either for performance issues or because they aren’t “legacy”.

And finally H2A is a case of lacking so much content that if it got all of Halo 4’s most finished cut maps (7 solid maps that even included Standoff and Sandtrap), it could honestly be left in for matchmaking since it wouldn’t split the playerbase; it would do the opposite and actually encourage people to play H2A more.

oh yeah they’re great if they’re free but the OP suggested them being paid for
