I know a lot of people like the new leveling system for Halo: Reach on MCC, but I can’t help but feel that it’s missing a feature that would’ve made it perfect… Player Selection, giving us the ability to CHOOSE which armor piece/effect/voice we want to purchase with our Season Points, it’s almost silly to count how many points we have if the price of items doesn’t increase, or if the items are all locked off until we level up. I am sure this topic has already been brought up, but it just feels weird to be granted a token to unlock things that I can only use to unlock ONE singular item in the chain, and that item being the one right after the previous item… It kind of off-sets the whole idea of Season Points, in my opinion.
That’s why I think it would just be a smarter, and easier method for people to just level up and unlock whatever they want in whichever order they want… Like, ODST armor, if people want ODST armor, they can unlock all those pieces first and then focus on something else, or Recon, or HAZOP, you know? Instead we’re forced to unlock armor pieces in a really archaic way.
I’m just saying, I think it would be better if when we leveled up, we would be granted a Point, and be given the choice of all the items on the list, and I also think it would make more sense to raise the price of high-valued armors, such as the Elite Officer armor, or the EVA Helmet, things that were very much desired and worked for way back in the ol' Reach days... These things should cost like, 3-5 Season Points, while the lesser stuff costs 1-2 Season Points. Am I wrong for this? I just think it makes more sense, and it kind of adds more value to these items in my opinion, rather than them all being the same price only unlockable via level.
Player choice was a HUGE part of Reach’s Armory appeal. I don’t know if 343i understands that…
There aren’t enough dissident voices for me to think that MCC’s progression and customization are likely to be overhauled. I’m just hoping that Infinite returns to form a bit on allowing players to prioritize unlocks in order of personal preference.

I haven’t bought 5, and nor will I buy Infinite because of this type of -Yoink-…
If I wanted to work for all the stuff I worked so hard for so many years ago, all over again… I’d remake an account for my 360 and reinstall Reach on there, where you can CR glitch, and Rank glitch… Keep in minds, Halo: Reach on Xbox 360 isn’t being monitored anymore, so glitching is so much more possible now… I feel more people play the old Reach than they do this, because this is just so much more unbalanced…

Yeah, that is kinda weird. I think they made the system like that so that we will have player selection in the next season.
Maybe there was nothing wrong with the unlocking system to begin with and getting newer armor was a way to flaunt playtime and prestige. . Maybe 343 hasn’t taken player feedback seriously enough to understand this. I miss old Halo: Reach already.

If that were the case, why? That being the case also makes no sense, unless they are “BETA TESTING” this system, which if they’re beta-testing a system in the full-release, that’s almost as bad as Fallout 76 adding a $100 subscription 1 year after the games been out, lol.

This, I have been thinking this… There was nothing wrong with the other system aside from the fact that it took a while to unlock -Yoink-… I’m not going to go into the whole “which is longer” argument, because that doesn’t matter. What matters is which has more value, and honestly? It would seem the old system, because at least in the old System, ODST armor wasn’t locked behind a Prestige and 50 levels, you could get that rather mundane armor (compared to others) right out of the gate, but in the MCC version, it’s almost like a Tesla-Cybertruck, it’s rare, but man is it cool when you see it… I just don’t this system.

I think it would work better if you could choose any of the ten items in each tier, and once you unlock all ten, you can progress to the next tier of ten items.

Not even, the ODST armor was so mundane and “basic -Yoink-” back then that it should literally just all be 1 Season Point per-piece, meanwhile something like Recon, EVA
, Commander, and Scout should all be 3 Season Points. Why? Because they're the more unique and cool designs, I mean... Jesus. It would just be much easier if they'd done "MY" (everyones) way.

This would work too, though I still feel the previous mentioned system of being able to choose whichever you want is better...
Especially considering that things that were unlocked at recruit level back in the OG Reach are now only available around the rank of Captain or Colonel per-each "TOUR"... All around, this system is just petty.

343 thrives off of removing player choice. Lootboxes in Halo 5 gave no choice in the type of armor we unlock, 5’s gameplay mechanics couldn’t be ignored and had to be used for map traversal, Reach had its Armory neutered and there’s no map vote for Reach in the MCC.
Of course I’m being facetious, but it’s getting to the point where it feels like 343 designs a thing, and then forgets actual human beings are going to use/experience it

I said something like that meaning prices can change
I also preferred the old system where there were multiple combinations in terms of the order you unlocked things. I along with a couple of others, have already unlocked tier 100. Took me just over a month since release. The xp grind would have been even more painful, if it weren’t for 2x xp over Christmas. Having an element of choice was a great quality of life choice bungie made on x360. I felt that got lost in translation in this version.

[/quote] I hate the new system u can’t see people ranks like u could before u have to click on there player card. Then you have cod selling there stats on a watch and 343 can’t get the stats to work right on there game or there web site and getting paid 20$. I fell like this is just a test to see how good this system works for halo in general for halo infinite, because we already know halo infinite is going to have micro transactions. This would be a great way to try out a system on mcc for halo 6. but when halo infinite comes out it will be all Micro transaction like halo five just might have a exp system like mcc but u have to pay for the armor with actual money. If we are lucky if they do have a exp system we might be able to unlock the armor from playing for a long period of time etc
It would be convenient to be able to unlock stuff how you want, but it doesn’t take long at all to get tier 100. You’ll have everything before you know it.
This unlock deal is -Yoink-. Matchmaking is broke. I keep getting paired with people who cannot play and we can do anything against the other team. I want it how it was. Complete things to get points to get what armor you want not have to get what ever they tell you to. Also be able to play campaign and get points.
