I’d like to see a toned-down version of WZFF that would be tailored to solo play with scaling difficulty enemy numbers for team play (if possible).
The biggest changes would be: Removing the time limit - this mode would be geared more towards a casual experience, no timer means the player will have the ability to fully explore and appreciate the WZFF levels and hopefully find the easter egg
Removing the defend objectives - these are already pretty AI favorable and wouldn’t really fit into this mode, especially solo
Tuning AI down to normal - this would allow players the opportunity to use their favorite REQ weapons/vehicles with less risk of feeling like they’re wasted, simply being able to choose the difficulty would be awesome
The difficulty paired with no timer would allow players to approach combat in various different ways. WZFF as it is forces fast paced high damage output play, where this would allow for much more freedom in that regard.
I thought I had more to add but I’m blanking here. I don’t feel like this would be terribly difficult to put into the game. Nor do I feel like it would be a detriment to any of the other playlists as a good portion of players seem to be happy with WZFF as is. Skulls and some customization options would also be great.
I miss the survival nature of FF that was abandoned in favor of the “kill everything as fast and as hard as you can” nature of WZFF. Enemies don’t come to you in WZFF; you go to the enemies.

That’s what made Firefight so much fun back in the day. Just you, your friends, and whatever weapons you could find to fight wave after wave of gradually more difficult enemies. You go on for as long as you can. Now they’ve thrown in objectives, make the difficulty spike through the sky right from the start, and winning is all about calling in REQs because you don’t stand a chance with regular weapons.
I remember in the events leading up to Halo 5’s release someone at 343 said that they wanted the players themselves to feel powerful because they’re Spartans, and not because they wield a powerful weapon. The way they made “Firefight” in this game completely contradicts that statement.
You guys realize you can download Reach to tour Xbox one and play all the classic firefight you want. I enjoy warzone firefight but I do wish we could at least select a difficulty level and maybe even party size.

It’s always easy to resort to the answer “If you like the older version, go play it instead.” In the grand scheme of things, it’s not always that simple. When it comes to games, people want to play the latest version. This is because the latest version almost always has better graphics and other features, such as a higher frame rate. Not to mention that they tend to have higher populations and the devs take better care of their servers, whereas the older versions are hindered by lower populations and possibly neglected servers.

And tell me which Halo was an exact copy of the last? Halo has always changed up the game play so yes if you like old versions you have to play old versions.

We don’t ask for Halo to stay the same; we ask for it to be improved without changing the traits that essentially make it Halo. Reach didn’t overhaul ODST’s firefight, it was built upon it and Bungie created an improved version of Firefight by adding more options and customization. 343 took firefight and changed it into something else entirely.

SOME may have asked for it but not every one. while I do wish I had adjustable difficulty and party size I like warzone firefight. if I want to play original firefight I load up reach and play it.

Now there’s one thing we can agree on. Yeah, we could play earlier versions of firefight, but I’ve already told you why that isn’t always an simple solution. There’s also the fact that one day, possibly sooner than we think, going back won’t be an option because the population will be too low or the servers will be shut down. Maybe someday 343 will implement some kind of change that you can’t stand, and maybe then you will understand why we are here now, giving our opinions.

Actually, I would disagree with this. Without limited lives and a time limit, you couldn’t lose. More importantly, I’d rather not have the possiblity of matches taking a really long time. 5 rounds of 5 minutes = potential 25 minute matches, and I feel like that’s already kind of a long time to invest. I mean what if I have to use the bathroom or send a text message? Sometimes I just want the match to be over so I can play another one.

Agreed, strongly. Playing WZFF with IWHBYD would be amazing

They really should have a version that plays more like the beta, granted make it award less RP and XP but at least it was more social/fun. while I do like the version we have, except the ridiculous automatic long respawn time, it would be nice to have a less tedious version as well. No mythic bosses, no increased respawn time.

I once went in with only my DMR w/Kinetic Bolt, and Ammo+ Magnum… And my team won. The only REQ I pulled was at the end, when we were fighting the four Hunters.
Corp Scorpion, which in retrospect, wasn’t a waste of my REQ. Did a pretty good job weakening them for my teammates to go and take the kills. Got 2/4, I think.
