What if they Noble 6 dropped Cortana when he was riding the mongoose and she never made it into Captian Keys wanting arms? What if they had to rely on a different AI to journey with the Master Chief to the strange alien ring world? What if the AI was a man AI and Master Chief never fell in love? Would he have the strength to carry on despite the insurmountable odds he faced?
What if Arbiter staid mad at the humans and never teamed up with Master Chief? Who would have defeated Tartarus and his lethal hammer? Would the human race have been capable of defeating the covenant armada or the even more ominous parasite threat without Sangheili allies?
I’m sure you guys have asked these questions and ones similar as you flipped between pages of a Halo novel or progressed from one level to another. Well what if the folks at 343 Industry entertained these notions of an alternate history. These wild possibilities could be explored in games, novels, and animes. I think it would be a really awesome thing to do and maybe even make videogame history because I don’t think anyone else has thought of this. Maybe they’ll even discover that the Halo story would be better if they stuck to a better alternate timeline. Personally I think it is a travesty that Bungie killed Sgt. Johnson and 343i should make it so he never died.
