After going through all of the info available for H4 I think I have a generalized idea for what they may be trying to do with the armor customization and how it will no longer be simply aesthetic.
Features and mechanics in previous Halo titles (and books) like equipment, AAs, weapons and other sandbox gems may be implemented into a more streamlined feature.
Imagine a trip mine, shrunken down and thrown into the grenade category. With the ability to stick to the environment and act as a proxy mine… Bubble shield could be treated the same…
As for armor upgrades, I think we will be able to control our base player stats like speed, jumping, melee speed and power, armor strength, shield respawn time, radar abilities among other things…
Would you like this format?
No; nor will I approve of any kind of game play affecting armor.

Well, sorry. Its happening.
That doesn’t make it the right decision and like AA it WILL force uneven start offs. Anyone who supports it doesn’t want balanced game play. And no you can’t argue that it can be balanced, it’s not possible.

You don’t KNOW that. 343 has already stated that there will not be a power combination when customizing armor. So, yeah… It’s possible.

i think thats a neat idea but there should be a playlist to use your armor and then playlist where armor doesnt matter

Agreed and there will be most likely. Halo always caters to all play types…
Don’t know if you know this but game developers will always try to spin their game so it appears better than it is. None of them are going to say, “oh yeah we got this super over powered X in the game that everyone will hate!”
No game has ever done anything similar to what 343 is proposing while still making it balanced. I promise you, it will be unbalanced and no amount of pretending otherwise will change that.

best come back ever.
to be on topic, crying that players can get any kind of non-standardised start is unbalanced is circular when you consider you will also have a non-standardised start. and that frank has already said they are not having a way to get an asymmetrical (unbalanced) start with this system unlike the class system in CoD. you have done what thousands of people do all the time, you have red information and ignored the half of it that you don’t want to acknowledge even though that is the very part you are arguing for.
asymmetrical statement on this page
These are pretty far-fetched conclusions to make seeing how little info we have. Please don’t start arguments with posts like this.

QFT
The perks and loadouts as well as sprint officially made me decide to not waste my money on a game that will most likely have one playlist that’s balanced.
If I do end up playing H4 at all it will be on a borrowed copy.
