When i alt tab out sometimes MCC disappears from my task bar. Can still hear the game audio but cant get back in. Even still says its running on Steam and it has a hard time even stopping the program.

There is a long thread on here on that issue. The thread mentions two ways around this:

  1. Start MCC, go to Settings, then Video and set it to Borderless mode
  2. In Windows, go to Settings, then select ‘System’. From the Menu, select ‘Multi-tasking’, then set both items under ‘Virtual Desktops’ to ‘All desktops’

What if I can’t even get to MCC settings? For me the game just starts up but doesn’t appear (I can clearly hear it going to the startup screen). I’ve tried the second step with the virtual desktops, but I can’t check my in-game settings for the borderless change. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times to no success, looked through my comp updates as well as driver updates. If it matters, I bought it over Steam. Appreciate any other different tips that may help.

Alt+Tab a time or two doesn’t bring it to the foreground?

You could try this:
Close the game (may have to do that via Task Manager
Go into Windows File Manager, search for GameUserSettings.ini - you may get multiple returns on that search. You want the one where the file path includes ‘MCC’ in it. I have the Windows Store version, so not sure what the full path will be for the Steam version.

Make a copy of the file as a backup.
Search (Ctrl+f) for FullScreenMode. It should be set to FullScreenMode=1
Save the change
Cross fingers
Start the game
