I have not watched nor read every single detail about H4 yet, but I am chomping at the bit for Nov. 6. So, I may have missed something along the lines, but the latest vidoc mentioned something that sorta irked me a bit, even though its just a minor issue.
They mentioned an alt-fire mode, I think when in zoom-mode. This screamed Dead Space to me, even though that’s not a bad thing. Dead Space 3 is also touting weapon customization which sounds like H4 will have as well.
These two series are my favorites so I’m looking forward to both, but when something becomes a fad real fast it can get annoying. It also boils down to who came up with something first.
I am rambling a bit with no real point to make I guess, but its just something that got my ears’ attention.
But based on the vidoc, is the alt-fire only for the forerunner weapons?
Any thoughts are appreciated and yeah I know I’m talking out my a## for the most part, no need to remind me.
It’s only for forerunner weapons, in order to make them feel a bit different and stand out from the other two factions, and even then only the Boltshot and Lightrifle have 2 firing modes.
And yes, alt firing modes has been in tons of games recently, but remember the early Halo 2 BR had two firing modes as well.
there are a few weapons with several modes of fire.
Light rifle: shoots 3 shot burst when unscoped, shoots single shot when scoped. zoomed may possibly do more damage, but harder to hit and not as forgiving as when shooting unscoped.
Boltshot: promethean pistol. fires like a weaker magnum regularly, but can also be charged(exhausting almost the entire clip). When charged, fires like a shotgun;close range cone with more damage to closer targets. It takes a couple seconds to charge, and a charge can’t be held like the PP. it goes off as soon as the charge reaches max. Is possible to insta-kill, but extremely difficult.
plasma pistol: same as the other games. Charge for EMP that tracks.
Theres also the binary rifle and incineration cannon of the prometheans, which very little gameplay has been seen. I doubt either will have more than 1 function, but its possible.
