They do look pretty nice, and the touch of most of them belonging to characters you see throughout the story adds some sentimentality to their use. Shiny red is a winner for sure.
Halo 4 probably still remains my favorite (Not too far into Infinite as of yet) story wise, but Infinite falls into a different sort of camp, a bit like ODST. Kind of vibes with CE in terms of level design and pacing to my memory. Similar story beats, especially with Infinite expanding upon those early mission structures like when you have to rescue three marine squads or Reach’s mission where you fly around the city completing different objectives.
Not gonna lie, I think the development of this game was probably alot worse than things seem. If they did a hands on deck to polish the gameplay and multiplayer content they had to the level that we see today and neglected everything else and the infrastructure was a shambles all through out, then there probably wasn’t enough people to make more content for the game (more biome diversity, more armor customisation, more skins etc…). This wouldn’t have as much of an affect if microsoft likely wasn’t breathing down their necks saying ‘this is our flagship title, we want it earning this amount before the end of the year’ and likely in attempt not to go against the contract they signed to do the job of monetising the game and meeting the quota pitched, it was decided to shift as much of the customisations as they could over to feasible systems of income. Since the game has so little content to actually monetise, it would mean that probably all of it would be put behind some sort of paywall and it needs to somehow last them a few months into the new year. That scarcity also driving up the prices.
Just to clarify, I have no idea if this is the case, but I imagine if I had a small inventory of items to sell and had massive pressure to make lots of money…Well I’m probably gonna slap big prices on them. Not saying its great or cannot be criticised but I think it is at least possible that the reasons for the shop and prices being what they are could be understandable if perhaps even unavoidable without some sort of miracle - like microsoft giving them more time than a year.
I’m not disagreeing with you atall though, it’s not our concern and if there was more competent management then all this could’ve been avoided.
100% disagree the team should have seen how poorly the people were handling it demanded control back to fix it or removed themselves to not suffer the credit for killing halo because it may die here i have probably 1 1/2 years at least in mp outside mc collection and played nothing else but fighters most my late teens, but this was the best attempt since reach at recapturing the magic. Unfortunately the community is also to blame as none of your complaints about progression time on a non timed pass are valid. And you dont get why this is more a marketing issue than a game one. This is solidly the best halo with the worst sandbox. Because i guess they think people cared about campaign more when the idea is so poorly founded i havnt started campaign still i was looking for forge… But nah thats mistake 3 or 4
im gonna make a topic of whats wrong the quick fixes and suggested marketing push on the changes as free upgrades .
Something has me curious, but before I post that, don’t get me wrong. I understand your point of view on things and some of it I agree with, and I know most of what we post is just our option because none of us will ever know what actually took place behind closed doors.
Going off the quote “pressure to make lots of money”. Could that be why the initial content was scrapped and we ended up with this new model the CM said that that is how things are now?
You mean, what’s not working for them. Upper management doesn’t care about the well-being of the player. Their job is to make the company and everyone else happy, not us.
I think it’s funny that everyone is attaching to the “50%” contract workers thing like it’s special.
Using contractors for half your work force is super common in any software development team, regardless of industry.
The 50% contract workers is an industry problem, not a Halo Infinite problem. And not industry like the game development industry. Industry like software development for any market in general.
Check the credits lol, more than half the names are contractors
I wasn’t talking about the number of contractors. I was talking specifically about bad project management. Big games always use an insane number of contractors or outsource work.
Wow obviously you missed the part or didnt read the actual post at all . To see i said it was the best halo at the core. My gamertag is probably older than you. But feel free to browse the other comments ive made like its the most halo like since bungie left. But that doesnt matter to people looking to be wrong like you are doing. Just spreading your cheeks and flinging the first thing that comes out. To defend something you have no buisiness defending. Your bassically being the Warframe community, and the difference between what works with that developer, and what will fly from the xbox flagship game should not need mentioned but we can if you need help understanding why your hand smells now…
Otherwise back down pleb or link your playtime on the original not remaster. So we can all see exactly who has ground to stand here. My playtime on the first 3 is rather unhealthy actualy and you shouldnt want to have more. I wasted most my post highschool headstart and if it wasnt for the things i did besides it woulda wasted my entire youth. Maybe you did too maybe you had lan parties and actual friends but you dont seem the type to have those if your so quick to judge. so im sure you wont know why you cant either. And instead stupidly point out mine isnt linked. Or im old. Because you decide something is wrong without reading and comprehending it.
Fun y part is I don’t actually see many people even wearing the purchasable cosmetics. Half the time the players are in grey basic Armor.
Pretty soon we will see plenty of campaign armor but not many are wearing that shade of white that cost 20 bucks.
But don’t be surprised of they monetize forge… It launches but you don’t get GraV Lifts. You have to pay 20 bucks for it in a bundle that comes with 4 new bushes never before seen in any Halo game…
no we shouldn’t be happy with the game as it is. this game is the continuation in a long running series and while the game may be hitting some industry standards, it doesn’t even come close to hitting Halo standards with missing content and overbearing monetization for customization. h5 already fell short. and we should call them out for it and hold them to the previous set standards. also we should hold them to the lies they told us like:
content complete game at launch (for example coop and forge)
player first mentality (overbearing monetization)
meaningful customization without the need to spend money
Dude from the start the all the basic colors we had in Halo 5 should have been available and should of been the universal starting set for all armor cores.
Second most of the basic armors should have been available to unlock through commendations and some attachments. After that Monetize further attachments and visors and what not.
We are getting drip fed content and time gated content.
We new monetization was coming but the way they are doing it where they gave us like 7 basic colors of the 24 ish we had in previous games. Than only allowing us to pay for other basic colors. Absolute cash grab with no player first in it at all
Knowing that it wasn’t entirely malicious anymore eases my frustrations and allows me to come to terms with the fact that this game experience is stripped down and boring. It’s beautiful, but damn is it boring with so many features and gametypes missing.
what we should have got is armor coatings are a pre set and then the ones we unlock would give us more color choices, aside from the basic colors and we were allowed to change the colors on the coatings and maybe those odd coatings with the patterns were further unlockable colors… More customization would have really been better though.
Yea. It for real of your going to lock us I to pre coated colors at least make them universal to all the cores.
I looked at the tactical.ops Event and we are getting 10 Teirs 5 of those are so and challenge swaps. Two of them are a helmet and the attachment for it. Than there’s a pose and a coating…the coating is most likely going to be locked to one core.
And recently they tried selling us that Red color. It this time for the Reach armor core…
Really it should have been universal. But you know they did that on purpose. They think we are dumb and won’t notice they aren’t making them universal so it makes it look like we are getting more.
Much like the winter contingency event it looks like we are getting 5 are.or Coatings. It it’s really the same one just they locked it to specific items.
It almost feels like 343 lacks the. Just remember to when they come out with a new armor core, we will have to re purchase Coatings that we already have to get it to look like the same color.
