If you don’t have a Halo 5 Beta Badge in your profile then your opinion on why “Halo 5 is going to suck” or why “Halo 5 sucks” is automatically invalid
sigh When I first saw Halo 5 Gameplay for the first time I said to myself “gee 343 did sure -Yoink- up!” BUT then after I downloaded and PLAYED the Beta
I -Yoinking!- LOVED IT! every single -Yoinking!- MINUTE OF IT! They finally made Halo feel like Halo they finally evolved the franchise while still maintaining what Halo is! I FINALLY FREAKIN FINALLY FELT LIKE A BADASS SPARTAN! it was fun it was awesome it was balanced it was smooth it was everything I have ever wanted in a Halo game!
Now last point! It seems all the Halo 5 haters have no Idea that the Beta was a BETA and that there is a POST-BETA build! so uhh
“But I have eyes and tears came from them when I saw sprinting!!!”
Sorry … I’m not trying to mock anyone, just making a point
And that point is, you can usually get pretty good idea whether you’re going to like a game or not without playing it. You can easily watch hundreds of beta matches on youtube and compare that to your experiences in previous Halo games and have a pretty good understanding of how it works.
You just won’t have the feel of actually getting to control that spartan (and yeah, it was pretty flippin’ awesome).
But you also have another good point: I, like you, was worried about it until my got my hands on it. I saw the early access matches that were streamed and I thought “oh boy …”, but once I played on Truth, I was in love.
But overall, you shouldn’t say “Halo 5 is going to suck” because that’s subjective. People should form their own opinions, not go shopping around on forums for the most popular vocal and outspoken position to align themselves with because they want to feel welcomed on the bandwagon. So you know what, I take it back. Carry on, OP.
I just commented on another thread and posed the the question “how many people who posed this stuff actually played the beta”. Its very closed minded of people to take H5 gameplay videos and make their final determination of why it “SUX”. I understand them not liking what they see but saying the game sucks because they saw a ground pound montage makes no sense.
So if someone has a good constructive opinion on the game, but hasn’t played the beta, it is invalid?
Should it also be invalid for those who haven’t played it and like what they’ve seen?
(Irrelevant but what about those who say CoD is the same every year, but haven’t played every annual release?)
Interesting. Let the controversy begin!
Hmm, well lucky for me that condemn sprint AND a have a badge.
I understand why people condemn sprint it messes up an entire layer of Mechanics I know I know! MCC Graham stated this well in one of his threads
anyways You can’t remove sprint now because, the maps RELY on it! the entire game RELIES ON sprint removing it will mess up half of the abilities it would mess up most of the new maps especially empire and the new remade midship
I want to see the POST BETA AND or play the final game before I make my final opinion
since in the POST BETA, Sprint speed is being decreased, General speed is being increased, Strafing is more responsive.etc
No badge = Never played beta… Now that’s some closed-minded thinking.

People use other accounts to comment, such as this one. I have played the beta, on my real account.

You’ve been condemning sprint for a long time. You’ve brought fair points to the table, but here’s the deal, you might not like it (amongst others) but now you have to deal with it or play another game (try finding another game with sprint eh). So with that said, you might want to find another game to whine about.

Watching and actually playing are very different experiences. It’s like saying I can watch football and be like yeah I dont want to play it because I watched but actually never played it.
Hate to break it to you, but people can still have opinions on the game. Just because you had the chance to play the beta does not make our opinion high and mighty, people got to play halo 4 and said it was good. Look how that turned out.
Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to play the beta as plan on getting the xbone when halo 5 releases. However I still know how halo games function, I have played halo multiple times. I can make assumptions based on what I see, I do not need to play to see what I do not like, the only thing I do not get to decide is if I like the “feel”
ex. I see how players are using a new feature and can see how the game plays out because of it, it is not rocket science. If I see someone cross the highway and get hit by a car, I can assume I would probably get hit by a car.
Sure, I will not jump to conclusions, but I can have opinions. Another thing, during the beta, players may have had the “shiny new toy” feeling, so trusting all players feedback may not be ideal.
Yes, because everyone only uses one profile on a console that allows you to create infinite XBL gold accounts.
So this means anyone who says halo 5 doesn’t suck, also has an invalid opinion.
I’d also say it invalidates anyone’s opinion who hasn’t played Halo X, gotten a rank Y in Halo Z, or doesn’t agree with the opinions of those who has done that.
Good to know there’s some authority in the world who points out who has an invalid opinion or not. An informed opinion must just be a myth.
They can have an opinion, just not an official/credible opinion. Also it’s the internet.
OP is gonna get sad guys, stop disproving him in every shape and form
I believe this OP was, in no uncertain terms, telling me specifically to -Yoink- the -Yoink- off. xD
But no, seriously. I never had the chance to play the beta in my house on my Xbox on this account, but I had plenty of experience with it, between waiting my turn for matches at friend’s houses and gameplay on YouTube and so on.

See, while that’s true, it’s not entirely a deal breaker for the removal of Sprint. I mean, the ideal map, in my opinion, is the one where the player may be shot at from virtually every angle at virtually every moment during combat, and may reciprocate fire from virtually every angle at virtually every moment in combat. Some of the beta’s maps are already pretty good at this - Regret, imo. (I understand not everyone was so keen on that one, though.)
There are ways around this without resorting to Sprint. What about a faster top speed? Basically, as I push in any direction on the movement stick, I get the standard “Sprint” audio visual cues - but they have zero effect on gameplay, because I can still fire my weapon and change direction at every point during the “Sprint.” Another idea brought up in that exact thread was the concept of “momentum based movement.” I move forward at the standard pace, however I will gradually accelerate until I’m moving at close to Sprint speed, retaining full control of my weapon and maneuverability. There are ways to make the player faster without incurring the limitations of Sprint.
