hard to do when most people dont use mics and or join games if youre ranked diamond and up… sadly

Yeah, its not like everyone in the community is all that great to hang out with…most people dont even use mics. And when they do it sure is hard to hold a conversation or talk tactically…

I used to be without a mic sometime around last year, and it SUCKED. Even so, I took the initiative to stay connected with my guys and communicate not just through text, but through actions. It has made me a rather deadly player in some aspects.
Digression aside, it really is a shame that some don’t use mics at all. Then again, it could be that their old one broke (and are probably too lazy to get a new one) or they don’t have a mic at all.

Thats the case for some I’m sure. But I know, at least in my expereince, that some have them and just dont want to use them.
I’ve seen people with mic symbols and when I ask if anyones there…nothing.

That “speaker” symbol will always be there, regardless if that player has a headset or not. It’s really stupid.

I guess its supposed to show if someones in game or party chat rather than if they have a mic or not.

For the majority of the time when I use my mic, the conversation usually dies down to the usual silence for those reasons you mentioned. 
I’d like to be able use my mic in competitive matches but I haven’t got the callouts memorized just yet, so I try my best to respond to other people’s instead.

I don’t use a mic at all because I like to listen to music or podcasts while I play, and I’ve already heard everything Yabda the Merciless says. Would I use a mic if I ever played more competitive modes, where things like callouts would be helpful? Perhaps I would. But I don’t. So I think it’s fine that I don’t use a mic. When I played with my friends before they got bored of Halo 5, we talked using Skype or Discord instead of mics.

What about Diamond and up?
I’d play more with others, but it doesn’t seem like anyone I match up with even uses a mic. Is this a thing with the newer Halos (4 and 5)? Because I remember always sitting in the lobby of Halo 3 back in the day listening to 6 or 7 people talking at once, but in this game, it’s just silence and that sweet, sweet music.
At least they said they will never make the mistake of not adding split screen again

I could never play with her I’d destroy her in this game.
Looks at friend’s list. Netflix, Netflix, Youtube, other games… 
There are some that play, but they usually play game modes that I don’t like and I’m mostly a lone wolf. Oh, well.
