agreed, pvp shooters should be all about gratifying players who did well. stuff like overwatch’s play of the game encouraged everyone to go for the flashiest and sweatiest plays, it was huge dopamine rush when you popped off. imo halo needs to get a little creative in this regard.

loadouts should exist in custom games but halo 4’s custom loadout system in matchmaking was universally hated. halo has to be an equal starts arena game, that’s its appeal.

I really love Reach where you can so easily view other player’s Spartans in the menu. This needs to come back, it was so cool, and it can be expanded further with custom poses and choose different weapons to hold. Since Halo Infinite is emphasizing on player expression, being able to show off your Spartan super easy in menus is a great way to do it, and also just fun to look at in between matches
I prefer it this way, no need for people to see their own stats (or yours) and they are there if anyone wants to check.
Anything to make the game more approachable for casuals without compromising the gameplay I’m down for.

MCC has a “mixtape” feature that allows players to custom search certain modes and playlists. What if this was extended to maps so that players could mark the ones that they were interested in playing and avoid ones they didn’t like? This could possible cut down on quitters since people would only be getting maps that they liked. This would also help 343 learn what sorts of maps people like and dislike for when they add new ones in the future.
