Allow us to select what maps we want to play

Can we get the ability to choose what specific maps we want to play from a playlist, in a manner similar to Team Fortress 2? I think it would be a great way so we don’t play the maps we don’t like and we play the maps we do.

We used to have Vetoing I don’t know why that was taken away. Because man I want to play Assembly so bad but we only get Heretic 60,000 times!

I loved this option in Halo 3 & Halo Reach!

I can understand that certain maps would not be played as much as they usually are, but then again it’s the favourites that would always be chosen

Great idea gamrknight352

I feel like this is a double edged sword. Everyone ends up picking the same maps and it kinda stinks

Please have a Veto system.

I wouldn’t mind the veto system to make a return. Maybe you could go through and thumbs up or down individual maps and then matchmaking tries to accommodate you as best it can? But there always is the risk of the map pool essentially shrinking due to majority rule over which maps are played

343 needs to put the voting system back like the halo reach days.

Vetoing was such a nice option. Instead of having people fight over which map to choose, let everyone agree on what maps to avoid!

This.

Having everybody and their dog pick Valhalla and Last Resort every time they come up in BTB got really old, really fast. Mind you, they are great maps, but I’d much rather get forced into trying new things rather than grinding the same map over and over again.

Yeah this is hard. It ultimately depends on the groupings and the quality of maps they release with Infinite.

I prefer the random map selection, hopefully Halo Infinite has a great range and we don’t see the same maps all the time. With vote and veto everyone just goes for or against their preferred or disliked. Like some stated, playing the same map gets old really fast.

I feel like voting makes preconceived distain for some maps that actually can be tweaked and improved throughout time.

I like the idea of this.

I wonder if having a system where players can suggest maps that they dislike can influence the matchmaking system so that it is less likely to play maps that people unanimously think are bad as opposed only playing maps that people do like.
I suppose it would be similar to the veto system minus the actual voting before every round.

Yep. You could assign a personal rating for every map in the rotation.

3 stars = I am happy to play this one all the time. These should come up 60% of the time.

2 stars = OK to play this when needed. 30% of the time.

1 star = Not fond of this map. Keep it to 10% of the time.

Veto system should be in the game no matter what. If the majority of players don’t want to play a map, then why the hell should they? And for people saying that this might mean some maps will always get vetoed then obviously that map has issues. And that map will show up when other maps inevitably get vetoed if it follows Halo 3s system.

Sadly this is not necessarily true. I can see perfectly good maps pushed to the side so everyone can play on Last Resort… again… and again… and…

I agree with either bringing the veto or the Reach/4 system back, or maybe even something new.

The way it works in Halo 5 especially is horrid. Not only don’t you get a say in the map/game selection, but due to the way it shuffles all players every match makes it ignore whatever map you last played. This makes me play that underwater map I don’t like three times in a row, and it’s just not the way to go.
It’s much the same in MCC where I never get to play on Coagulation in Halo 2 because it always puts me in Backwash, Turf or Waterworks.

I admit that we shouldn’t have it like in early MCC where every single match was Halo 3 on Valhalla, but we should have something.

Not always. Everyone I knew always voted for the maps they liked, usually ones they were good at. I agree some maps will get a veto because of issues but equally it’s just preference for the reason given. Many also quit when they don’t get the map they want or they’re playing the same map for the 3rd / 4th etc match running. Veto and vote should not be there imo.
