I doubt thats actually gonna work. Kinda hard to prove too if you just go and encounter him straight after your previous game. Also I definitely wont play for a cheap win just to troll a suspected cheater. Thats as time wasting as playing against one.
I think they should allow unrestricted chat. It should just be turned off by default and/or for competitive/Ranked play. Once players realize chat is available, they can have the conscious choice to turn it on⦠The ESRB already incorporates online possibilities into the rating of a game. So when a player turns it on in the options, the game can pop-up a quick disclaimer warning players once again, that there might potentially be some harsh language, loud, and/or obnoxious noises heard (remember you can mute the culprit(s) as well). After that, nobody is allowed to complain⦠the devs can then let the chat robots respond to all those Karensā complaints like they do for every other issue.
Iām talking about the fact that when playing videogames, even ones with HIGH populations like Rainbow Six, I will often come across a familiar name. I have even had it be a little funny as someone on my friends list was put onto the enemy team a few times.
With this happening often enough, you tend to notice a few things. Especially who is an obvious cheater.
Did have a mute person who played on our team who couldnāt talk at one point. It was a long time ago, but even if rare the option to have it for them makes it worth it IMO.
I think youāre just not being very social. Talking or even listening has always been fun in social games. Though they donāt talk as much as they used to during the beginning of Infinite.
I donāt think Iāve even seen anyone ever use text chat ever in this game. I assume this is more of a PC thing for obvious reasons. Maybe itās just off by default like voice chat.
Either way I canāt see them investing much time in adding this feature. The only thing I think they should do is have voice chat on by default or at the very least have the game prompt you to make a decision when you first load into multiplayer. Everything else is just playing around the edges with niche features that probably wonāt see much use.
Quite possibly not and if you can it couldnāt be very convenient. In theory you can have a keyboard plugged in but I have no idea if KBM is actually compatible with Infinite on Xbox.
Still in my more than 2000 matches of cross play, Iāve never noticed anyone Iāve played with using text chat. Donāt even know how it would appear. I suppose itās possible people have used it and I just havenāt noticed it.
Text chat is a great tool for many in plenty of circumstances.
Not being able to talk as to not disturb the household, having lost ones voice due to illness, or having a sore throat, or just not feeling like talking, especially when going solo.
Text chat generally lowers the threshold for engaging in communicating as well.
All chat can be useful and fun, any players engaging in bad behaviour can be reported so that the root cause is weeded out, rather than cutting out the tool used for everyone.
Additionally, MWO has a setting where you can disable it for yourself so you canāt see it which wouldnāt be an outlandish addition to consider in Infinite.
It is, I tested out KBM on my Xbox One early on with Infinite and it worked just like on PC.
Now with the custom game browser i join a session playing turf from halo 2 but it was slayer, and no one can speak with each other, that make the game feel off.
to have a good social time playing a beloved game. give people the ability to disable it if they want. but something a lot of people love about halo was the social experience. i still play with some people i met back in the h2 and h3 days.
100% agree. and no post game lobbies :(. i loved being able to rematch and/or party up with a good squad easily. also, bring back proximity voice chat.
Good thing itās not up to you, a single individual. If you want to shelter yourself from speaking to the enemy team or even your own team for that matter, that is fine. But the option to engage with them should still be there, just like the option to exclude yourself is there.
