A shooting practice mode should be made, this shooting practice mode will derive from “Theater”, yes you read it right. When you play this mode you will be able to play old games in Theater mode but you will also be able to shoot the players !!! If you kill a player he starts of from his next spawn point - or something like that. The details of this can be worked out but in short the idea is to “allow shooting in Theater mode”.
This is a terrible idea. You’re basically taking a match that everyone participated in, then recreating it using theater. So you’re basically the only invisible time traveling spartan in the match, and your prior existence disappeared. So, you know, all those guys that shot at you are now shooting at nothing.
Not to mention the amount of effort to employ something seems like a huge waste of resources, you want to get better? Play the game in matchmaking?
There’s no better practice than the real deal, although I can’t deny I’m sure there’s plenty of use out of “combat training”
In one of my favorite shooters and online games MGO, they have a combat training mode where all the maps are populated by moving geometric shapes or still standing dummies wielding guns. This was essential to me learning the game inside out in terms of damage values, damage degradation over distance, etc. To be honest though, Halo isn’t that deep to need that, MGO had a steep learning curb and a huge skill gap, Halo is pretty straightforward and requires a bit of a different skill set. I’d still like if they populated maps with simple combat dummies that stand that or etc, just so I can test out damage percentages in new custom games.
In that sense, it would be far more efficient to just do a simple combat training as I said, but I don’t think there’s going to be any of that.
If anything this calls for a visit back to the strict divide of ranked, and social. Except the difference being I think that the social counterparts minus a few specialty modes should employ the SAME universal standard rules, that was your practice is good anywhere. I’d love for their to be a single universal ruleset that governs all ranked and social matches, something akin to BR/DMR primary, AR secondary (BR or DMR depends on the map size, AR secondary to keep it fresh and give some close range edge off spawn)
Theater already exists !! So instead of having a camera floating around. You now have the ability to shoot people. Your shooting will only affect their health and not their movements.
Suppose you lost a fight in a match then you could go into Theater practice mode - first kill of your character and then try shoot the perpetrator quicker than the last time.
In essence this is the next best thing for practicing than being in a match.

I think I understand what you’re asking for.
Like how racing games can pit you against ‘yourself’ in order to beat your previous time?
I don’t know if it really works for Halo or any shooting game if the target doesn’t shoot back at you, though. You’d be better off practicing in campaign.
I think Ideally, the best ‘training mode’ would feature commandable enemy/friendly AI that you can place in different spots on a map and have them with a set of actions.

i think if you had tried to work out all the details before posting this. you would have realized what a terrible idea it is. why not just have bots in custom games instead(i hate that idea too, though).
hold on a minute, are you suggesting that we could interact, shoot an kill other players in a recorded video in a game that has already taken place?? how could this work? why this why not just have combat training?
If it ran in theater, players that have already played the game wouldn’t even act like you’re there, because, well… you weren’t. If you want there to be combat training, then just say it.
