Allow more look sensitivity options for H4

I’ve always thought Halo should have better look sensitivity options. How about the ability to set LS for each weapon? What I mean is, It will remember your setting for that weapon, so like if you have the sword and you like it higher, you can have it higher and then you pick up the sniper it can be lower. Thats just an example. Also, how about dead zone adjustments at the begining and end of thumbstick travel. Having these settings can tweek how touchy the thumbstick is or isn’t depending on your preference and/or how worn your thumbsticks are. Also, have LS setting for begining and end of thumbstick, so if you want you could set begining to 3 and end to ten. This is just an example and may seem confusing, but I know serious gamers know what I’m talking about. I could only imagine if I had these options…

This would break the game, if the sniper’s LS was lowered then everyone would be getting HS noscopes with ease.

I disagree, this would not break but enhance the game. Most people would probably not even use these settings. It takes skill to no scope no matter what your LS.

The only thing I would want to see done to the sensitivity options would be the ability to adjust the sensitivity of each direction separately. That would help greatly to counter slowturn that is the problem of so many controllers.

Yes, for sure. I totally know what you mean.

If you could lower ls of the sniper to the same as like the dmr, it would look like this.

I just want my sensitivity to go higher than 10. I’ve played 10 since CE and it has been painfully slow. I play CoD and other games on custom sensitivities and whenever I go back to Halo it feels very crude and mind numbingly slow even on 10.

This would absolutely break the game, and if you can’t see that. The you have no idea what game design mechanics go into a game. Your talking about custom adjustments for maximum ease of use. Reducing and obliterating competitive game play. Maximum thumb stick settings also means you can make sure your weapon is always slowly adjusted, and per weapon means you can perfectl DMR headshot from far and still frantic fire with an alt weapon up close. Big fat no, regardless of how NICE it would be, its pretty much supreme aim assist.

There is a difference between look sensitivity, and bullet magnetism. A sniper with lower sensitivity would not behave like that at all. All it would do is just make the reticle move slower, not change the behavior of the gun entirely.

I don’t really see anything wrong with having weapon-specific sensitivities. There are even mice for PC players that have a button on them to change the DPI (Sensitivity) to higher/lower on the fly. Sure they have an advantage, but if the feature was given to everyone within the game, what’s the big deal? All this feature would do is give you different sensitivity settings so you wouldn’t have to go to the pause menu so much. H4 is already all about giving you options to fit your style. This would just add to it. Players could have lows on their snipers, and have highs on their automatics and melees. This wouldn’t suddenly make bullets magnetize to their heads 100% of the time. It’s still up to player skill and preference.

I love using low sensitivity when sniping, but I hate when I’m in a close-range battle and I can only turn around slowly. Weapon-specific sensitivity would fix the problem low-sens players get in CQB, and would fix the problem of high-sens players get when fighting long range. Is such a thing really game breaking?

How would this be game breaking?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but all the OP is suggesting is that you can set your sensitivity per weapon as opposed to overall.

For example, I play Team Snipers on 3 but most other gametypes on 4, so I have to switch my sensitivity every time I switch playlists. It’s also annoying to me in Team Slayer when I pick up the sniper and have to work with 4 instead of 3 like I’m used to.

So, I could set my sniper sensitivity to 3, DMR to 4, something like shotgun to 8.
When you are using that specific weapon, the game automatically adjusts to the set sensitivity.

If anyone is wondering where I got this idea, it’s from Forza 2. They have thumbstick options and it is hardly game breaking. You can give anyone the best car, they still have to know how to drive it. Halo is like this to. The per weapon thing is just something I thought of. It beats having to push the start button and change it manualy mid game. So it’s not like I just dreamed this up. It has been done.
