ALL Upcoming Map Packs Info

Exploring new worlds and wonders, all three Map Packs provide classic “Halo” combat and exciting ways to experience the new feature-set of “Halo” Infinity Multiplayer. Descriptions and tentative release dates are as follows:

Crimson Map Pack (December release timeframe)

Maps: Wreckage, Harvest, Shatter

Description: Witness the chaos of a clash of civilizations in Wreckage, with its blend of claustrophobic spaces and dangerous exposures and venture into the human colony environs of Harvest, and explore a human foray on an alien moon in Shatter.

Majestic Map Pack (February release timeframe)

Maps: Landfall, Monolith, Skyline

Description: Landfall’s emphasis is on infantry battles against a glittering ocean on a distant world, while Monolith exposes you to the naked vacuum of space – and the firepower of opposing teams, and Skyline’s distinctly industrial feel provides new challenges in somewhat familiar, but occasionally confined spaces.

Castle Map Pack (April release timeframe)

Maps: Daybreak, Outcast, Perdition

Description: Daybreak is set in a military facility against the backdrop of an idyllic mountain range, while Outcast plunges you into the warrens, canyons and arches of an alien edifice, and Perdition takes players into the heart of an urban sprawl, with tactical speed and situational awareness its key features.

Nice, only two months between DLCs!

If you read the full thing, it says this map pass will be included in the console bundle. Anybody know if this is true or just a mistake?

I’m really glad I’m getting Limited Edition, so all these maps will be free.

I’m pretty impressed as well with how fast the DLC is coming out. This will put us at a total of 19 maps by April. Very impressive.

What the #!@#, why would they already announce all of the maps that are going to be released.

I like looking forward to the next mappack now that surprise is ruined. Plus it just proves dlc is no longer downloadble content, but disc locked content.

And no remake of gaurdian, lockout, the pit or construct:((

I’m actually trying to talk with him right now about that and get a clarification.

EDIT: Looks like we’ve got our clarification-

It is included in the LE game, NOT the console. Upsetting.

Personally, I think it would have been better if the months were January, March, May. But I’m sure 343/Microsoft want to jump on the Holiday momentum with the first map pack.

sigh

That’s all I can say about you that is allowed here…

Ahh, well, thanks for figuring that out. Woulda been nice though.

Sweet! I preordered both the LE and the Console bundle. My only wish is they make more medium maps than small maps. I don’t like close quarters combat, not my style.

It’s not disk locked content. Wtf?

It will be downloaded from the Marketplace, think of it as having “Battlefield 3 Premium”, you get the map packs early, and free, but you still download them from the market place.

Plus, how can you be sure of no remakes just by the names of the levels?
Even if there aren’t any remakes, I’m sure the new forge will allow EXCELLENT remakes, and 343 is known for putting community maps in MM.

ya, its obviously going to be dlc, cuz they have to make it dlc for the rest of us who aren’y buying the LE so why not just use the system for both groups.

I am frankly hoping that non of the maps are remakes, we already have one, and besides sandtrap i can’t think of any other map that i wouldn’t be frustrated with a remake of. its just a waste of space on a map pack. I already have all the old maps and i can play them whenever i want with the games they were intended to be played on. New maps are far more exciting anyways so why not add more to our selection of halo maps as a whole rather than continue to regurgitate the same old ones until we are sick of them all.

Speaking of forge, I am really hoping that somewhere amidst all these new maps we get some new forgeable ones, preferably some more open ones with minimal or better yet, no man-made structures to deal with.

Yes, December does seem kinda sudden, but hopefully this means that we’ll just get Map Pack #4 earlier.

Do you think 343i will make a DLC of the original Halo maps, like Anniversary?

I honestly would have preferred not to know this. They have never done this before. Also, I think that is way too fast for them to be releasing DLC unless they plan on additional map packs beyond these 3 or we are getting Halo 2 Anniversary. Halo 5 shouldn’t be out until at least 2015 if they plan on putting the proper time and care into it.

They should release the game first before mentioning DLC

I find it funny they released all the map naps for the map packs, but the 10th map Vortex is still a leak I suppose.

Also how many MP are the map packs usually?

It’s not like you were forced to read it. The title clearly said what it is about.

OT: I think the names of the Map Packs are kinda, un-haloish. Not really a problem, just noticing.

War Games Map Pass is all the map packs, 15% off.

War Games Map Pass is just a 2000 MS Point card.

Each map pack will cost 800 MS Points normally.
