All things weapons, vehicles, forge and more

Just post your ideas, I’ll start.

Weapons: Return as many weapons as possible. Plasma Rifle+Repeater. Spiker, Mauler, Brute PR and brute shot ect
Imagine the mayhem!!! Also if two weapons are the same but only have cosmetic differences like the halo reach AR and the halo 3/4 AR the you can choose either model to use but they would work the same for gameplay

Vehicles: Hornets, Falcons, Prowler, Chopper. And if larger maps ( I mean like forge world type stuff but without all the cliffs in the way) Elephants, pelicans, Phantoms, some vehicles from halo wars. Basically more variety in your choices. And some more vehicles that rely on teamwork so no one guy carrying the team in a tank/mantis.

Forge: Doors with buttons that you place where you want, and link them like you would with teleporters.

These will probably never be noticed but it’s nice to talk and share ideas.

Oh and plasma weapons, in the lore the bolts are hot enough to burst flesh even from a near miss. so plasma weapons seeing as most of the previous halo’s the have been considerably weaker against flesh than shields, near misses should do damage (alot less than usual) against un-shielded targets.

I love your ideas, more is better! (As long as it can all be balanced and have a purpose)

For some reason I’ve really wanted transport vehicles (besides the Mongoose) in Forge since I drove the Spade in the first level of Halo Reach. Not everything has to be about destruction.

I love Forge and how it was in Reach. In H5 I hope to see improvements from the past Forge. I have always wanted more dynamic pieces like doors, windows, bridges, etc. (I am talking operational door, windows, and bridges.)I am excited because we are seeing these appear in H2A.

I would like all the weapons to return in Halo 5. They need to be more unique though and not just copies of each other.

The Banshee has been fine, the Hornet had its problems but it was still cool, and the Falcon was amazing. I think we need more Covenant aircraft though.

I would love to see the day that Pelicans make an appearance in MP but it probably won’t happen. Seriously all I want to do is fly around and drop Hogs off for teammates. Spinoff maybe?

ALL the vehicles need to return (except for the Mantis). The only thing I would do is remove the Prowler and Specter and replace them with the Revenant. I liked the Prowler and Specter but they are basically the same and the Revenant is cooler.

Wouldn’t this highly over saturate the game with weapons?
I have a hard time seeing every weapon getting equal attention, certain weapons won’t be touched by anyone.
Also the Pelicans and Phantoms are a no and vehicles of Halo Wars are a hell no(the Sparrow has a gauss cannon attached to it for crying out loud).
Pelican and Phantom were never meant to be balanced in any way with the Halo Sandbox, a Pelican swoops in now and then in campaign to pick you up or drop you/additional troops off, in the SP mission Shutdown the Pelican is used as fan service but everyone can notice it is very over powered and the outer parts of the level were specifically designed to make use of it, for MP it would simply be a pain to maneuver and would either be an easy kill due to its large size or an incredibility hard kill because it was given health to accommodate that size, either way it cannot be balanced for MP just like the Sabre.

> Forge: Doors with buttons that you place where you want, and link them like you would with teleporters.

I take you mean that you link them like the teleports (alpha, beta channels and that) because it seems you suggest to make doors with teleporters (also why not make it that if by the door it just prompts you with a message to open or close the door? No need to add actual buttons).
Anyway, reclosable doors like that have a very annoying thing about them, they are an easy camping spot to abuse, I could get along the idea but only when the doors have a strict time limit in which they can be closed again (like after opening you need to wait a full minute before you can close it again).

I’m not onboard with this, aside that it takes some skill out of using plasma weapons to finish enemies off there is the fact that there is still armor after your shields faded that would probably protect against plasma bullets flying by.

I can think of a lot of situations where more is not better and as I said we should not over satuarate on weapons, there is no point to bring 5 ARs to the table when one is sufficient (for instance the Supressor is very useless giving it needs a ridiculous close range to kill anything but the shotgun fits that range better anyway).
The same holds true to vehicles, the mongoose is superior in its role to the Spade, it is just as fast but smaller and easier to manuever making it a much harder target. It is why I liked Reach’s vehicles more, the Warthog and the Revenant were in no way equal nor opposites, the Warthog allowed more shots to miss while the Revenant had more damage per shot but at the expensive that missing a shot could be a fatal mistake, I really do not wish to see the Spectre or Brute Prowler return since the warthog is good enough for the job anyway.

I never understood how Halo 3 only had such few maps that had dynamic elements and how Reach barely seemed to have none (I can’t even recall if it had any).
They are an interesting feature that allow players to somewhat control the environment and if done right (like for instance the Bubble Shield on Zenith being on for a limited time and not being able to be used for a time after that) it can be a great addition to the game.

> I would like all the weapons to return in Halo 5. They need to be more unique though and not just copies of each other.

That is kinda the thing, certain weapons are near carbon copies for the other race to the point there is really no reason to have them return, I rather have it we have a well executed sandbox then one with too many weapons.

> The Banshee has been fine, the Hornet had its problems but it was still cool, and the Falcon was amazing. I think we need more Covenant aircraft though.

I really do not see why aside from having something different than the Banshee to fly which does its job perfectly, I really do not wisht to see more vehicles for the sake of more vehicles, I want vehicles that are unique and as said above are not directly opposites like the Revenant and Warthog, the Wraith and Scorpion, the Falcon and Banshee and the Ghost and Mongoose, each of those vehicles are unique in their own way and I have had this conversation before with you (or I believe you were present), aerial vehicles are simply overpowered as transport vehicles due to the lack of stopping mechanisms, I can see them work in SP to get you from point A to B but for MP, it would be too easy to get in and out of a base with a very straight line back to your base on an altitude grenades cannot harm you and you cannot be stopped unless a SL is targeting you.

> I would love to see the day that Pelicans make an appearance in MP but it probably won’t happen. Seriously all I want to do is fly around and drop Hogs off for teammates. Spinoff maybe?

In a spinoff I can see this work but with the actual Halo Sandbox no.
Also if transporting people over large active battlefields is your thing I absolutely advice you to check out Planetside 2, you might not be able to give them warthogs(or a Harasser, the Planetside 2 equivalent of the warthog) but there is a transport ship for 12 players (1 driver, 4 Gunners and 7 passengers) and the game’s sandbox is tweaked to work for this type of combat and vehicles.

I think the Mantis came out pretty balanced and was a very unique heavy vehicle but if anything it should take a lot less shots to take it down when its shields are down.

I want to see the locus, revenant, cobra, wolverine, seraph, spectre, sparrowhawk, chopper and prowler in halo 5 as well as the usuals. The brute shot needs to be back. As with the missile pod, flamethrower, plasma launcher, need rifle, target locator, grenade launcher and concussion rifle. …You should also be able to keep your same weapons throughout the campaign. and campaign scoring should be back…just food for thought.

My ideal list:

Returning weapons: All of the Brute weapons, Plasma Rifle, Missile Pod, Flamethrower, Sentinel Beam, Grenade Launcher, Plasma Launcher.

Returning vehicles: Hornet, Spectre, Wolverine (beefier replacement for the Rocket Hog?), AA Wraith, Chopper.

This would be in addition to what has become the “standard” weapons and vehicles in Halo.

> I want to see the locus, revenant, cobra, wolverine, seraph, spectre, sparrowhawk, chopper and prowler in halo 5 as well as the usuals.

The Locus is cool I could see it working.

The Cobra, Wolverine, and Hawk would be OP and honestly wouldn’t work in normal BTB. Campaign? Yes.

The Specter and Prowler are basically the same and the Revenant is a much better choice.

The Seraph is a fighter sooo it would pretty much dominate the battlefield.

> Returning vehicles: Hornet, Spectre, Wolverine (beefier replacement for the Rocket Hog?), AA Wraith, Chopper.

The Wolverine is a anti-air vehicle so unless there are more aircraft it wouldn’t be the best choice.

I am hoping for more aircraft and air combat so I wouldn’t mind having the AA Wraith or Wolverine at all.

I would prefer the Revenant over the Specter or prowler any day.

Here is what I need:

Vehicles: Mongoose, Falcon
Weapons: Concussion rifle, Brute Shot(Halo2 version), Spiker, Plasma pistol (peas only, no EMP burst), Gravity Hammer, Sniper.

Phantoms and Pelicans could work.

Having tons of guns with no distinguishing features is just pointless clutter.

Lore wise pretty sure a Plasma weapon can kill a Spartan in a few shots. We even see Thorne take out an elite with a few shots of one. Obviously, lore alone shouldn’t be used to influence gameplay mechanics.
