All these topics about what is ruining Halo or causing the player base to drop

Call this a rant post or whatever because at this point it really doesn’t matter what is posted on this forum, mainly because no one is actually listening.

Opinions will vary but it all boils down to the developer in spite of anyone’s opinion, and their actions, or shall I say the lack of thereof that is a huge problem right now. From where I stand looking at all this, not only the developer, but also the community doesn’t have the slightest clue on what to do with the game, mainly because no one wants to communicate.

Personal, I’m tired of these multi-billion dollar companies lying to us to sell their games, but you can’t even call this a game. It’s just random nonsense thrown in and 90% of it is incomplete.

When does it come to a point that players say enough is enough. Stop with all the talk and start showing some real action?

We waited 6 years for this disappointment.

They don’t make enough ointment for the amount of chap my -Yoink!- has with this game.

Infinite being F2P, and having a far more stable launch than every other game on the market sort of separates it from the norm.

Feel as though you’ve been ripped off? Good luck asking for a refund. This game doesn’t charge you $60 for garbage, it charges you nothing so it is more difficult to be frustrated with it compared to other games.

They should’ve released this game a year ago, 343i have proven that time is nothing for them. MS could’ve given them 10 years and I’m confident they still would’ve released it unfinished.

And will have to wait another couple of years just to get a complete game.

I can understand a game being released unfinished, but this is a lot worse than just an unfinished product.

I’m not going to say what’s best for the game, but I can guarantee 343 isn’t either. MS needs to light a fire under their -Yoink!- to get them going…

They have never done that before, why would they do it now?

MS are probably pretty pleased I’d imagine.

I would figure they would knowing Halo has never had a steady huge player base.

That was the one thing about Destiny. Activision got on Bungie’s -Yoink!- to produce content, and they even threw a couple of studio at them to get things done. Now that Activision is gone, the game is far worse off.

Imo publishers should step up a lot more about making a complete game and the quality of it. So as long as Microsoft is pleased as you said the poor state the game is in will be this way for a long time. That’s not good at all for 343 or Microsoft because the player base will keep dropping.

Actually community has been talking for years on many things that people agree on and there are actually certain things that have been requested and highly requests via things like threads like ‘bringing back Elites’ for years and 343i have had free feedback from many popular video content creators out there that the general fanbase tends to agree with ‘The Act Man’ and there is constant free feedback and plenty of UI concepts on how they could improve and yet 343i just seems to ignore most of this.

Not saying 343i can fix every problem but they have more than enough feedback for 2 decades and yet they come out with this…which is ridiculous. At the moment 343i’s current thinking general doesn’t make sense and at times it feels like they do not understand the fanbase or possibly doesn’t care. I seriously do not understand how a AAA studio is failing on every level when they have 20 years of feedback and with endless supply of constructive feedback.

Infinite probably doesn’t need 1 million people per day to be successful, it gets about 140k throughout an entire day which is probably huge numbers for them. What matters is how much they sell really. I’d venture a guess that 50k a day is probably healthy population numbers for them.

Lots of games (especially F2P) have an ebb and flow of new and old players, if 343i actually release some good content they can increase their playerbase a good deal, but considering their current obligations and schedule looks like they won’t release anything substantial for months.

I 50% agree, 50% disagree with you. It’s clear that somewhere on the 343/Microsoft hierarchy, there has been some considerable mismanagement of this game. With 6 years and a budget of several hundred million, I feel like Infinite should’ve turned out bigger and better than it currently has, or at least had a roadmap to quickly implement large yet missing features like Co-Op and Forge within a month or two of launch. So in that sense, I agree that even with a longer time, this game probably would’ve been unfinished in some regard.

But on the other hand I don’t think this game should’ve released a year ago. Despite being unfinished, the game plays with a reasonable amount of polish and smoothness compared to its competition and the campaign visually looks more detailed than it did a year+ ago. I feel like the decent level of polish in the gameplay (compared to most of the other AAA garbage coming out not even half-done, broken, and full of customer complaints) is the big thing keeping Infinite from completely failing right now without Co-Op and Forge.

I agree that they have had more than enough feedback, it’s the lack of communication and them unwilling to work with the community that is part of the problem.

The community as far as not being a whole doesn’t help either that leads to many different things, of what the players would want the game to be, what direction they would like to see it head, etc…

Then there are YouTubers, Content creators, etc… That is separate from the rest of the community, and things like 343 using Twitch instead of their own forum. There is just way too much going on at once that we actually have to ask ourselves, who the hell are they actually listening to when that feedback is given to them?

When people say successful, sure it will be financially but as far as the quality it shows it’s quite the opposite.

This is what bothers me the most, that players nowadays will just except things as is when they should be pushing the developer to make a quality type of game.

to quote Kait Diaz “what in the hell do you think I’ve been doing this whole time!”

i personally loved the game learned about halo recently after buying an xbox and its free too !

Forum communities always make up a small percentage of the actual playerbase. Companies may listen to hard-core forum communities but they also have lots of statistical data and other information gathering sources. Plus this community can’t even figure out what it wants. There’s a large diversity of opinion.

I’m not talking about issues likes bugs and technical problems. But more about balance, content and “what makes a Halo game Halo”.

It’s all very subjective. Everyone started their Halo experience at different points and therefore have a different idea of what a Halo game should and shouldn’t be. Is Halo CE the true Halo? Is it Halo 2 with BR starts? Halo 3 because it was the most popular and played Halo?

You know, why should 343 listen to your opinion over someone else’s if they differ?

@Sleepmaster5646 If you didnt grow up with the older Halos, you really dont know the full potential of what Halo was. At the moment this is the worst Halo game in the series. I say at the moment because they could fix a lot and make it much better. But in its current state its a disappointment.

Pretty much as far as Halo goes, I also don’t like the lack of communication. It feels like 343 have turtled again. Like either they give alot of communication or they just ignore everyone.

What’s the point of having a community manager at 343 of all they say is our employees are busy working hard to fix it so you won’t hear much from us… like bro your the voice of that company to the community.

Not to mention we are 10 days into January and still no word on the whole free item for Gamepass Holders. The whole thing seems to be falling apart quickly.

Iv honestly moved on. So far I just turn hall on to collect a daily Gamepass game played reward. I don’t even play a round just boot it up collect my thing and go play other stuff. Sometimes Breakpoint. Sometimes BAttlefeild as I’m still ranking up on that game. I’m barely at level 31

Ahahaha this is what I mean. Nostalgia all day. This is not true. Just because they didn’t play doesn’t mean this, if that truly even had meaning ahaha.

Come on you guys gotta see this. Look at how you view the game.
If you didn’t grow up
If you didn’t play Halo 1,2 etc
If you don’t understand Halo
Etc etc

Game franchise has been stagnated by it’s on fans and they can’t handle that maybe they are the ones that are wrong.

Maybe the franchise can’t attract and hold new players due to not being able to compete with modern games and no amount of past greatness can overcompensate that.
Not saying it has to change but going back to old style Halo as we see also didn’t bring those players back.

@ItIsEndTimes You need to understand that when Bungie made Halo they had tons of content on games that didnt have live updates. Were in 2022 and this is not acceptable. Maybe if we were still in 2005 1 ranked playlist and 6 maps would be enough.
