All the complaining

Keep on mind that people are much, much more likely to talk about the problems than the are to give praise to what’s good about a game.

That’s because the problems are what stick out, and hinder enjoyment, and because if we don’t criticize there will never be improvement.

I love this game so far. It looks fantastic, sounds fantastic, and brings back design elements from the original trilogy without just being Halo 3.5. I’m happy. This is the Halo sequel I’ve been waiting for for a decade. But that doesn’t mean this game feels finished. It has problems with balance, controls, and still feels pretty far from being a polished game. I want to see it improve so I talk about what needs that improvement.

Yeh well the thing I’m already doing those weekly. MCC often. Right now we have daily/weekly/seasons in MCC and sometimes timed ones and there fun and easy to check while with Infinite it straight up hides challenges and block access to a challenge slot. I can tend to get them fairly quickly but sometimes longer while Infinite just feels like a 2nd job.

Sad part is I’m more interested in playing MCC more than a new Halo game that is supposed to hype me up but instead 343i has made it so all I feel is hate/frustration and disappointment. I can’t say felt this much dislike to a progression system as much as 343i’s awful premium system. It feels like 343i took the worst parts of Halo 5 and decided to find more ways to trust 343i less.

I really enjoy the game. I have a good time in most nearly all matches. The one thing I am unhappy with is the battle pass and the slow progression system. This was brought up to them during the flights and they said “we hear you, but there will be more challenges, it would take you like 16 hours to get through them every day” but they sort of ignored the real reason people complained that has really come to light: very long and boring progression.

The game itself is great. It needs to improve how exp works because people like things to chase and like to see progress on it.

The reason people are complaining (and rightly so) is beacuse there are serious issues and predatory practices in place, with the release date very close by. A broken progression system, paywalls on everything, a terrbile executed armour customisation system, controller support being absolutely dreadful, and bad team/map balancing, are not a very good sign when the final release date is less than a month away. If they want the game to be successful, and not DOA, they must fix these things immediately. All of these things happened during H5’s launch, plus a heap of extra issues. The marketing was solely focussed on the customisation and how it’s being expanded and will rival Reach’s, but it simply is not anywhere near the same, and if anything is vastly more restrictive than even H5 was.
They promised a product, and are blatantly not giving us said product. It’s false advertisement and marketing, with predatory microtransactions forced upon anyone who wants to customise their spartan to any reasonable extent. Stop accepting this behaviour, its a plague on the industry and companies have been getting away with it for far too long.

Literally everything being complained about is what needs improving/changing. Thats why they are complaining about those issues. Don’t get me wrong, the game plays brilliantly (on MKB anyway), and runs flawlessly, but the customisation and other glaring issues are a serious issue. I don’t care if some people don’t care about spartan customisation, but a majority of us do. This customisation system, and other terrible problems are what will be the nail in the coffin for, not only this game, but Halo as a franchise.

Literally how I feel. I feel the game is overall a success and runs great, but the way customization is accessed/how hard (for now) it is to obtain said items is ridiculous. I know they have pretty much said they are already looking at feedback/ways to improve the progression system, but hopefully it is sooner rather than later.

Game forums are always echo chambers of whinging.
the vast majority of players are happily playing the game

Personally, I tend to complain about things I like more then things I don’t. If I hate a game, I won’t play it. The little things won’t annoy new. Why would I care about exp in Battlefield when I don’t like Battlefield? I’ll complain about little things in Infinite, because they annoy me, but they only annoy me because I think the game has so much potential and might be my favorite Halo ever once it’s updated some more. I’m not trying to justify the complaints. I know it can be frustrating to hear them all. Probably especially so for the devs who worked so hard. I’m just saying that complaints aren’t necessarily indicative that people dislike the game or anything. Hopefully the complaints will balanced by well warranted praise though.

Dually noted OP, nobody is allowed to complain about a game you enjoy.

They said the same thing with the Flight, yet here we are with a Beta release and not much changed, except now there is a massive paywall for cosmetics.

I believe this is the full release build, and they will continue to make updates as we approach each new season. Let’s be real… it’s their full build ready for release with all the additions they made to the flight’s build, and it’s unfinished. It will be unfinished (as most free-to-play games are) for years.

I agree with definition of these microtransactions. But according to the rest of the hate - do you all realize, that we are still in Beta, right?

I love you man.

Post must be at least 20 characters

Except… That’s EXACTLY how it works. Which was even proven today.

4 years of software and engine development that drained most of the 500 Mil they were given to revive the series.

2 years of developing the game so you could come here and -Yoink!- that the battle pass isn’t easy.

6 years of hearing how much their own fanbase hates them.

Have some respect for 343i

Booo… Boo these complainers.

Let’s complain about them!

Beta is Beta sure. The gameplay is great, I think we can all agree on that. But these issues aren’t new. The progression was brought up day one of the first flight… and the pricing was critiqued over a year ago when it was leaked that individual coatings were priced at $5 per. They’ve had time to address these issues, and purposely haven’t. That’s where I’m at with it.

Waiting to fix things until there was a massive uproar is only going to drive new players away I feel.
