The most new additions look fun, but I implore you, (and I think the community will agree) 343I all of that needs, needs to be optional, I hate the competitive community, but people who want classic deserve it.
This -Yoink- should be our mantra people, make it optional.
I agree, 343 should add separate playlists for classic gameplay. Idk why this wasnt an option in halo 4, halo 5 will suffer the same low multiplayer population if they don’t listen to their fans.

I think the new features look pretty good, but I’ll agree to that. Add those optional features with a strong selection of custom game settings and I think we can make gamemodes and gametypes everybody can enjoy.
I think it would ultimately for the best in that it’s the only way to appease everyone. But I just don’t think it’s likely to turn off all of the new gameplay mechanics since all of the maps look massive and it would be difficult to remove them. And when you look at it, did Bungie have to make the ability to hijack and duel-wield optional in Halo 2 so that Halo: CE fans would be happy? It’s just sad that any attempts to modernize Halo go against a lot of fans visions of the game.
They could call this classic halo playlist the “Handicap”. It is reserved for disabled Spartan-IV’s who can only speed-walk and can no longer take the strain on their back to perform moves like slide or thrust.
The problem with the optional thing is that the game is built around the new set of abilities so if you take all that stuff out then the can become out of wack. So they need to work into making two games, essentially. I dont think 343 is willing to do that.

While I like the idea of playlists featuring classic Halo gameplay, that title for it sounds really offensive. Why not just continue to call it Legendary slayer or whatever?

I think “Legendary” would be a perfect name for the playlist.

A valid point, but they still have a whole year to work that out, and if 343i wants to keep add things, they gonna need to be flexible, this is a long running franchise after all.
