It has been confirmed that you will be able to see what reqs you are able to obtains kinda like the nameplates and avatars of mcc. Does knowing all of them spoil it for you or does it not matter because there are so many.
Think of it like pokemon cards. When i was younger i knew you could get the main 3 evolutions on the booster pack but i had no idea what all the cards were in the set. I dont think they were listed unless you bought a guide or something back then since the internet wasnt around really.
So i mean while im sure it will be awesome to get the card that you want in the red packs im not sure if the full excitement will be there since you can see all of them. I guess i was hoping that they were more of a surprise. I’m fine with like emblems, avatars and nameplates but idk about the req packs.
What do you guys think?
I don’t think it spoils it, I think it makes people want it more as they have their eye on something they want and they will be focused on getting it
For me personally, I think it will add to the enjoyment. I’ll be eyeing all those -Yoink!- armors like “I want that” and working my way through the packs trying to get them. Even when I get a pack full of stuff I don’t want, I’ll know that something worthwhile that I want is still out there waiting for me. If they didn’t have them all shown, opening packs and getting nothing of interest is way more discouraging about the system as a whole, instead of simply disappointing about the immediate results.
That’s my view of it anyway, I know a lot of people love RNG and playing the slots like that, so it may be detrimental to some.
I’m personally fine with it. The system as a whole is in place because of them giving away future DLC away for free so Microsoft still wants the $$$, if that’s what individuals choose to do. How they release or show off what you can get i dgaf about honestly. Others have mentioned in different threads they wish they could purchase individual cards, but then again that would be opposite of the point of the random card packs and regarding rarity of cards. Overall the video and news thread by Josh were pretty great and leave no questions on how/what can be used and where. Can’t exactly complain except against the system itself but even then later on we’re getting free DLC…
The only real questions I know that people would be wondering about are the content of the boosts you could use in Arena and then all the cards that are everything else being used in Warzone including all cosmetics that can be used anywhere. Which will all be figured out soon enough.
what if i don’t look at the list and simply unlock stuff? personally i don’t mind knowing what’s in the list, or not knowing. there’s people who will hate know, and people who can’t handle not knowing but i think it’s irrelevant as long as there’s stuff to unlock people will try unlock it. and then there’s the desperately impatient rich who will just buy it all
It’ll take a lot of time and patience to scroll through 1000+ cards. I think anyone with that much dedication would probably forget the first ones by the time they reached the end.
Simple solution if you want them to be a surprise: don’t look at the list.
It’s better to be able to see what there is available because
-
it makes you excited for a REQ Card that you want, or you have something to look forward too.
-
it keeps you from getting discouraged from the system if you didn’t get anything good in a pack or two, because you know that there IS cool stuff. If you had no idea, it’d get tiring to open 5 packs and not get anything, because you have no idea if there is actually anything to get.
-
they can add DLC and people can look forward to them because they know what they are.
Wut. That’s like saying I don’t want to finish the campaign because I can look at the list and see what the achievement for it is ahead of time.
Also, the cards had an x/x on the bottom left representing the card number from its given set, and all boxed decks had set list quick sheets.

The campaign comparison is like not even the same thing. Knowing missions doesn’t mean anything because its a mission and its the campaign. Knowing the name of a mission or a small explanation of it doesn’t ruin anything. But at the same time i wasnt saying that its a bad thing i was just curious if it would still be very exciting.

I can look at a still frame picture of an assassination on a card, but I’ll never know what it looks like in action until I get it for myself. Same concept. I think there’s plenty of drive to make people want to earn them. Especially if you can see what some Ultra rare ones are ahead of time. Just like in Pokémon, everyone knew what Charizard was, that didn’t stop people from wanting it.

The way you worded it that time makes more sense. I guess its weird because its not a card that you just collect but an actual item that you can use in the game which makes it even better. =]
The purpose behind showing players what they can unlock is so that players can find something they want and either keep the game alive by continuing to play for the card they want or paying for them.
