Before I start, has anyone heard if 343i has acknowledged this concept and if they have plans on patching it in? I can’t find anything on it but I don’t want to beat a dead horse if it will be the case. But as the title says:
All rank ups past 100 should give you Season/Spartan points. This would include “back-pay” for all the ranks attained after 100 points, or Tier 8 Sergeant First Class, if I’m not mistaken. Having the points end at 100 is arbitrary given how many things you can buy.
If 343i wants to add the ability to buy these points, they should at least not make it genuinely impossible to get a sufficient amount via grinding. XP-only challenges shouldn’t be useless after the first 100 ranks.

To answer your question Dark, I’m pretty sure that 343 hasn’t said anything about retroactively awarding seasonal points (or “Spartan” points as they’re now called) for anyone who’s leveled up past 100. Nor have I heard of them saying anything about making this a feature in a future update.
Unfortunately, we still have to worry about forcibly monetized points in a future update because 343 couldn’t be bothered to just say and promise that they’re not going to do it.

Even if they don’t add he ability to purchase points they should be awarded regardless to help out new players. I’m well into tour 9 and I would be fine even if I don’t get awarded retro points.

Honestly, I just wish they could bring back Campaign experience points. I remember when we used have Campaign exp. before the official challenge system/exchange was implemented. Here’s the scaling I’d like to see.
25,000 Exp-Easy
50,000 Exp-Normal
100,000 Exp-Heroic
200,000 Exp-Legendary
400,000 Exp-Legendary; All Scoring Skulls On
It’s just such an easy thing to do and put in. And I think players would very much enjoy having more opportunities to earn experience points once MCC gets to the point where there isn’t enough of a playerbase to maintain a robust online PvP experience.
It would also inspire players to push themselves on harder difficulties outside their comfort zones, and likely help them improve their campaign skill set for challenges. High Risk, High Reward as the saying goes.
I understand that the suggested exp scaling wouldn’t affect seasonal progression, so I had written in another forum earlier about how 343 could make it easier to earn “Spartan Points” from the challenges (God I wish they would just call them “Halo Points.” There’s no need to be so prejudiced against Elites).
Anyways, I know that every week there are 6 “Gold” challenges that currently earn 1 season point per completion, and an addition 7 “Blue” challenges that earn a variety of experience points. This applies to both PvP and PvE.
If 343 can make it so that all of the “Gold” challenges earn 2 points and all of the “Blue” challenges earn 1 point it would a relatively small change But when you add it all up, that allows players to earn a total from 12 points all the way up to 38 points a week. That would incredibly player friendly.
Also, doubling the amount of experience points earned through challenges would also be player friendly and would be incredibly helpful with progression.

They should increase rewards. Completely agree.
I think the only balanceable way to do something like this is to bring back Solo Score-Attack - single person firefight playlist. Speedrunning XP would be far too easy in Campaign. I dont want the best way to earn XP be a completely offline experience.

I understand where you may be coming from. I’m just concerned that MCC will eventually get to a point where MCC will get too old for anyone to play online PvP matchmaking. I just think we should have a consistent option for whenever that happens and for all of the players that prefer the PvE experience side of things.
I suppose the scaling could be reduced in order to incentivize online play, but I still think option like this should be present in some capacity.
By the way, could you elaborate on the whole " Solo Score-Attack - single person firefight playlist."
Score attack was in Halo Reach (original) and was a way to earn credits by playing alone.

You could make an interesting argument for the return of Commendations as an XP Source in MCC.

i started grinding mcc late 2020 and finished to unlock everything at dec 2021 what you could buy with season points (all exchange items + seasons) and now i have over 100 points in my stock …
as i said in a other thread already points getting useless at some point (for at least now) for long time player, more points = just time sink → if you want unlock everything fast as possible then go to a other game?
or maybe wait for mtx (if its really come to mcc), you will only save a few months of playtime and support the game, but you will regret it when theres nothing left to spend your points
While I do feel you should get one for leveling up in xp I feel it is probably best you don’t as there probably would be an even bigger problem with afk’ers to farm points since you do get some xp even if you don’t do anything. They would need way better afk detection, which I don’t understand why they don’t have anyways. If they truly wanted to help newer players get season points they should either make tactical exercises pay out a bit more or make more of them, or they could make golds give out two points and blues give out one point on weeklies, or after completing a weekly maybe have a new one available (maybe tougher one worth more points)? They have options besides the ol’ hey give us money and we will give you points.
I agree that 343i needs to implement a proper AFK system. After 30 seconds to a minute, if a player isn’t moving, it’s rather obvious that they aren’t going to move for the rest of the match and should just be kicked. It’s embarrassing that custom servers in Valve games, made by the community, can do this but not a “triple-A” studio.
I agree ranking up beyond 100 should continue earning Spartan Points. I’m Tier 9, ideally backdate them but even if not it will be good for new players.
