all problems aside

Halo 4 has a lot of problems and by a lot I mean A LOT but if you look past those problems H4 in my opinion is a pretty good game, I have been playing it a lot more recently I can see a difference with some of the problems, I personally think Halo is headed in the right direction and 343 will bring the franchise back to glory. I’m excited for Halo Xbox One or whatever the title is going to be because 343 got good experience from 4 and from the community reaction to these problems.

It’s a pretty good first game.

If you put “all problems aside” anything is good.

> It’s a pretty good first game.

Also, this. 343 did great for the first game they ever released. It just had some wasted opportunities and uncorrected mistakes.

Lol, of course if you look past all the negatives, all that’s left are the positives. That’s true with everything, not just Halo 4.

On the most basic, core level, I’d say the game is at least as mechanically sound as Halo 2. I’m talking about the movement and aim assist here.

And really, playing Throwdown or Legendary Slayer aren’t bad experiences, even if they could be better.

Of course, unfortunately no one wants to play Legendary BR’s on Skyline CTF when they could be playing Infinity Slayer on Adrift.

No matter what game there’s going to be flaws, nothings perfect, but 343 did good for there first game even though it was rushed.

Regardless of all, I catch myself playing daily.

The question is, have too many people given up on 343i? Have 343i dug themselves into a hole that they cannot get out of?

Halo 4 is a good game.

I also think enough people will be excited for and purchase Halo 5.

My biggest concern is the lack of concern on the DLC situation from 343. Conning the people that support you is never a good decision.

Agreed. They aren’t completely ignoring it though.

Halo 4 may be a good game, but are not games like Halo generally held to a higher standard? Is it ok for a Halo game to be just “good?”

My concern is not the quality of Halo 4, it’s how many long time fans of the series 343i has driven away, and the air of mistrust they have created around themselves.

While I won’t deny that Halo 5 will probably sell well, will it sell more than Halo 4, or maintain a higher population for longer? How can 343i earn back the trust of long time fans who feel conned?

I feel the same 343 has improved a lot since h 4 launch but there are some people that left and never came back but in my book those Aren’t true halo fans. They absolutely are going in the right direction and i cant wait for the new halos on the next gen consoles. Merry Christmas everyone:)

What?!
If you ignore all the problems that comes with food poisoning, then it’s a pretty good illness…
Ignorance levels are off the charts!

My take on it… Trying to fill Bungie’s shoes was a huge ask they could never actually do right up. Lots of 343 staff are actually Halo developers from Bungie. So the heart is there, thats what we need to focus on. So its a bit rough around the edges, Halo 4 is still an awesome game. Its evolving as it should do otherwise it will become stale and only get a ‘cult’ following like Final Fantasy (which is bad if it wants to continue).

I play Halo 4 daily and i still love it. I know it has lots of problems, but i like to think this was a first ‘test run’ for 343. Now they know. They have listened and are still actively trying to improve. A good recent example was 343 day. I tuned in, it was great to see things are still moving forward in a GOOD direction.

I really think Halo 5 will be what we all want. It has to be. You cant go backwards after experience, good or bad.

Oh and there better be a Halo 5 Xbox One console. Im putting off getting one until Halo 5 is released and ‘hopefully’ it has a sick console…

yeah very true. There’s too many negative to list but LAG is the worst in it that put the icing on the cake for me.

I used to really enjoy Halo 4 but my patience grew thin with its LAG, so it just amplified the negative for me. The campaign is great and true to the Halo storyline, just the multiplayer needs to be fixed and given a classic playlist that has no Killcams or Quickspawns.

So for now until they fix these negatives I will be enjoying Halo reach or wait till the next Halo.

Halo 4 after June 3 weapons update >> Halo 4 on launch day.

Acknowledging all bugs, missteps, and flat out mistakes, it’s not a terrible game.

A lot of the ‘fans’ weren’t very open-minded to begin with. Expecting each iteration of a game to outdo the other isn’t very realistic. Games/franchises ebb and flow, and expecting H4 to outperform H3 is asking a LOT because H3 set the bar so high. That truly was a once-in a generation game.

I feel the community backlash could have been more constructive at first. But what’s done is done, and I truly believe 343 felt and heard the feedback.

This is just a hunch, but I predict we will look back on Halo 4 as the game that made Halo 5 possible - and it might just give Halo 3 a run for the top spot in the franchise.

> The question is, have too many people given up on 343i? Have 343i dug themselves into a hole that they cannot get out of?

No, they have not. At best, it appears they’re unable to determine the size and shape of the hole. At worst, it appears they’re not aware that they’re in a hole.

Initial sales may have caused them to believe they were on target and, therefore, above criticism. They seemed to believe initial population drops were due to weapon balance issues. They now seem to believe we need more mini games.

I think we can agree that it’s not one big thing but a number of little things that are holding Halo 4 back.

I, for one, hope that Halo 5 is less “accessible.”

I think the game has too many problems and not enough of a solid identity for itself for me to call it a “good” game.

> It’s a pretty good first game.

^Pretty much what he said^
Don’t forget, this is just the start. I for one, love Halo 4. Just give 343 time to work on it.
