Cool, aside from a few specific instances such as Infection or Action sack which I imagine will fall under the ‘weekend social’ category, all core Arena playlists should be ranked. If you want to pub stomp go play Warzone.

I agree that core Arena playlists should be ranked, but I don’t see many people warming up on Warzone or even playing Warzone all day. Different experience all together. I prefer to play a few unranked games of slayer just for practice or to warm up for playing ranked, don’t see how Warzone is going to help that in any way.
How do the ranks work anyway? Is it halo 3 style where you can only match with/against similarly skilled players? Or is it like halo 4 CSR, where it’s possible for level 1’s to be in the same games as people with 50’s.
You ever have a social game where you play so well you wish it was ranked? This is all excellent news in my opinion. BTB is plenty competitive when it wants to be and I’m tired of clans stinking up casual BTB when no one is prepared. Now there’s no more secrets.

Depends on how it’s implemented. Halo 4’s CSR was implemented rather poorly and didn’t really work out too well.
Hopefully it actually pits you against players of the same rank, but if the population is really low it won’t work that well.
Basically it works like League of Legends’ skill ranking works. You have to play 10 placement matches to get into a rank based on your performance. After you get ranked, it’s based on Win-Lose from there on out.

(In the beta) Ranks are based on your win loss ratio. When you first enter a playlist, you will play 10 qualifying games (based on the win average and individual play) and you will be placed in a bracket (bronze, silver, gold, onyx, semi-pro, pro. Bronze is lowest tier for noobs, pro for the… Well… Pros) and based on which bracket you fall under, you will play others in that bracket.
To “rank up” you need to continue to win games. Much more emphasis on team play and winning rather than individual play. But the better you do, the better the “XP” boost you will get post game.
I would assume that it will be the same at launch.
I have a hunch that BTB, like Breakout, will be entirely crafted by forge. So it will essentially be Reach forge BTB on steroids. Is it possible that we have a Forgeworld? They said it’s using uniquely crafted maps for BTB; maybe not made by 343, but by forge, and forge would have to be BIG.
The will have rotational social playlists on the weekend. Josh also stresses custom games. I’m worried that infection and Grifball wont be a core playlist, which is sad. I’d like to have my Grifball and Infection any time I want, not thrown into rotation. As of now, the only core social playlist we’ve seen is Warzone, and I rather not depend on it for my entire matchmaking social needs.
calling it now in the coming days and following release of h5 people will complain about the following and we will see threads in which people do one of the following:
people complain that zombies is ranked
people complain about playing with people from other countries claiming lag in spite of there being dedicated servers
people call weekend playlist the iron banner from destiny
people say they wanted theater info not forge
people complain Mark V and Mark IV armor will be in REQ system
people complain there will be remixes of maps
people still wont know who blue team are/ think 343 made them up

Nope I wouldn’t start assuming btb maps will be made via forge. They could have sangheli themed , human themed, and forerunner themed maps. What I’m getting from what he is saying is that the team is making maps from scratch for btb instead of using warzone maps. I have low expectations for forge so I’m not expecting much from it whenever they may show it. If they were to have forge maps in the btb rotation ima guess that they probably made 2 forge ones.
