Modding had already showcased the Halo 5 shotgun, SAW and Fuel Rod in Infinite. Why not just port all of Halo 5’s sandbox into Infinite? In fact given that Halo Infinite is meant to be a 10 year game, why not port all of Halo 5 into Infinite, the campaign, Warzone the works and give them Infinite tweaks?

Yeah, hope the H5 magnum can replace the Sidekick. That weapon was so satisfying to use.

No. There were way too many weapons in Halo 5. So many that it was nigh impossible to balance before the crazy variants like The Answer could be considered.
I would be fine with some of the base variants being added with a new upgrade to flesh out Infinite’s weapon pool, but not all of them.
As for the rest of Halo 5, that would be wasted time and effort that could go towards fixing Infinite’s problems.
I think he just means the base variants and not the millions of versions you could use in Warzone.

I have no idea why they didn’t start off with Halo 5s entire weapon collection is beyond me.

Bro. More is better when it comes to weapons. You say too much and then talk about one of the most powerful weapons in the game that’s never used anywhere but warzone like bruh
I feel like the game is screaming out for something that can really put the AR in its place. Like the Storm Rifle or SMG as maybe a one per side of each map pickup.
Then that would hurt the sidekick so I’m not sure.
What bothers me most is how seemingly random the choice of weapons for Infinite are. They took the BR Design from Halo 2 and 3, the AR design from Reach, Pistol from 2 and removed all weapons except the Hydra that were introduced in 5. And let’s not forget about the Mantis. Fiesta was a lot more fun in 5 with all the weapons there were in that game.

It should be obvious why they did that. They are trying to please everyone instead of just focusing on one cohesive weapon system

They can offer it for season 5 and call it Tales from the Guardians.
I was worried about the lack of weapon variety until I played the campaign. There are actually 15 “modified weapons” that each have extra abilities/unique buffs. I think they really need to start incorporating them into multiplayer ASAP.
- Rapid Fire Pulse Carbine (faster rate of fire)
- Arcane Sentinel Beam ( Increased damage and decreased ammo, faster cooldown)
- Dualist Energy Sword (Faster movement, attack and recovery)
- Calcine Disruptor (Increase damage and area of effect electrical damage)
- Unbound Plasma pistol (Charging fires multiple shots, less shots to disrupt shield, larger bullets)
- Stalker Rifle Ultra (Faster fire rate and bullet velocity)
- M41 Tracker (Homing missiles)
- Riven Mangler (Slower fire rate, increased bullets/damage per shot)
- Rushdown Hammer (Increased movement and attack speed, increased damage)
- Volatile Skewer (Explosive ammo)
- Ravager Rebound (Ricocheting ammo)
- Pinpoint Needler (Homing shots that can track multiple targets)
- Purging Shock Rifle (Increased range and damage)

Porting process is more difficult than one would assume, that being said it wouldn’t take insurmountable amounts of time or resources. Now if they were to port every single variant it would probably take months, but if they instead are more selective with it it could be relatively quick I’d assume.
Regardless, the fact they still have variants in Campaign kind of tells me that 343i have no moved past variants. In fact it tells me they are still very much in favor of them. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again but Warzone will end up making a return at some point, this game is well designed for it already.
It’s not obvious, 343 and even Bungie always did what they thought is best for Halo and that is good. This new approach to bring Halo back to the old core community might work this time with Infinite but changing back all the designs is so unnecessary. They should please the Fans that did not cry about all the things 343 brought into Halo with the Reclaimer Era, instead they please the fans who said that 343 basically sucks for not making a Halo 3 and Reach clone each year.

Now whether you prefer the classic or the Reclaimer era design is up to personal taste, I like the newer design more but what I meant is that changing it back again after having it changed for so long feels like something they didn’t have to do. Like it’s not that important.

I’m not complaining that it isn’t a Halo 5 clone, just sad that they scrapped everything 5 did good. Instead of including EVERYTHING the Halo series had up to Halo Infinite, they just took what oldschool fans wanted to see. I like infinite very much and it should not be a clone of any previous halo game but they could include 1 or 2 more things
