Its a chronic annoyance of mine that every single match I have people just losing the game for the team on purpose. They splatter you with vehicles because you can’t do anything to retaliate because they took away your ability to betray as well. They grab all the good weapons and power ups and take them to the enemy or dump them off the map. They never leave the base and/or hide all game. They go 1 and 20 and quit in slayer. Everything you can imagine.
Why does this game seem to encourage this
Classic. Brings me back to the Halo 2 days of driving a fully loaded hog into the water on Headlong, or deliberately holding the assault bomb and not delivering it.
It’s just part of the territory. Big games with lots of player mean more chances for trolls to troll. I doubt this is a Halo-exclusive phenomenon, but I don’t play other games so can’t say definitively.
Besides, you’ll see posts on these forums complaining Halo is too competitive and not social. What you’re describing is the flip side of that coin. Halo is a sandbox, and kids are gonna play as they like.
Worst I’ve had is teammates ignoring the objective to collect cores and the enemy team just walks right up and claims all of them. Usually ending the game in mere minutes.
I presume they enjoy watching the main menu and loading screens more then actually playing.
Sadly, the report functions you can do are limited in this game. I record video of people and attach them to support tickets to get rid of them. But the games also F2P so nothing is stopping them from creating a new account.
