All Multiplayer Maps Made In Forge?

We’ve seen several different maps by now, and the point has been made that all of them look the same. If you look, you’ll notice that the same assets are recycled on several of the maps that have been revealed, thus making them look the “same”.

We also know that Crossfire, Orion, and Pegasus were also forge maps, showcasing two additional distinct themes and sets of assets.

From what I can tell, the only unique maps that seem to be built from scratch are Truth and Regret. This leads me to believe that all the maps are made with Forge assets (with some obvious tweaking and other items thrown in). Either that, or the art design is worse than I give it credit for.

Edit: I misspoke when I used the word “recycled”, as that does not appear to be quite the case after a very close examination of the screenshots of each map.

We know next to nothing about forge, the non human maps look good aesthetic wise and though the human ones look similar they don’t look the same.

It speculation until they decide to show something on forge however I don’t believe those maps were made from forge.

Also “we” I think you should change that to “I”

All maps so far look good and i dont think the maps were made in forge.

Yet you neglect to actually prove which maps use recycled pieces of geometry. Fathom is set at the bottom of an ocean, Eden is the top of a Human-civilian building, The Rig is literally a giant rig, and Coliseum is a Forerunner structure — not only am I curious as to which “assets” have been reused (someone’s been on the Armchair Dev Wiki today), I’m questioning how you’ve managed to perceive four completely different environments as the same. Leaving your house must be confusing.

This has been a comical portion of the forums for a while now, but constantly repeating it isn’t going to make it true. Pushing an agenda much?

I think he’s mistaking similar aesthetics, as reused assets.

Actually, it’s grammatically correct, unless you’re saying that you haven’t seen the maps or don’t know that Orion, Pegasus and Crossfire were made in Forge? I clearly expressed my opinions with the pronoun “I”.

Again, you still haven’t specified which areas have been reused.

Ive seen the maps, the only ones that look like they re-use the same assets is Pegasus and Orion. The other human maps look similar like I’ve said but not the same.
Also “the art design is worse than we give it credit for” that is a personal opinion that’s why that we should be changed to I.

Eden, fathom and the rig all look verrry similiar.

Well let us not forget that some maps will have remixes, so yeah, there will be reused pieces…

I agree how some maps look like they were made in Forge, but I think it’s just the architecture of the maps that make it look that way.

Can I just add, if all of the maps are supposedly identicle, how are you able to distinguish that there are, in fact, “several different maps”?

Yes, when they’re literally the same maps in different portions of time. He is arguing that almost all of the maps look the same while failing to backup his claims.

At least you’re not outright claiming that the maps are being recycled. Although, I’d take your comment more seriously if you managed to explain how they look the similar.

The people MS hired to design these maps are some of the best in their field. And here is someone on the internet crapping all over their work. Nothing wrong with that, it’s their right. But they should know, when a layman is being this critical of the work of a professional it’s much more natural for me to think “The professional is doing a great job and the layman has no clue what they’re talking about” than it is for me to consider the possibility that the layman is actually well-versed in this matter and has an authoritative opinion. This is doubly true when the criticism is in no way constructive.

It does sound like OP has an ax to grind.

The map geometry is way too complex to have been made in forge, don’t be ridiculous.

That said, yes, they all do look extremely similar.

Amended the post. Appears that nothing has been recycled (except for assets on remixes, for obvious reasons), That being the case, the aesthetic of the maps is extremely similar.

After MS and 343 spent the better part of 3 years Yoinking! the bed, I think people could be forgiven for being just a bit skeptical…

Right, but this isn’t skepticism. He’s actually making the claim that things are being recycled and such.
I see now that he’s edited his post for clarity after I had made my post.

Not reused, just similar, maybe a little too similar for some, but not reused.
