all map packs free?

should all the map packs be free now, i doubt many people will be buying them, so it seems pointless to keep it payed

achievement tied dlc can not be free

All the DLC should be free because I’m sick and tired of not seeing the maps I paid but -Yoink!- will never allow it.

> achievement tied dlc can not be free

can be theyve made half of them free

> should all the map packs be free now, i doubt many people will be buying them, so it seems pointless to keep it payed

Simple answer: No

Reason: Why do people who can’t be bothered getting dlc free while dedicated fans who originally bought them be punished?

Ps simply put achievements or not it be a slap in the face to everyone who had to save up for all the dlc costs.

they should

Halo ODST has all of the maps on the 2nd disc. Buy that instead.

I’m sick of only being able to play Team Slayer, especially when a few of the original achievements can only be unlocked in Lone Wolves.

If somebody who bought it originally is mad that it’s free like 5 years after it was released, you really need to shimmer down.

To my knowledge, only the Heroic Map Pack is free, and that has no achievements tied to it.

Why should I be ‘ok’ with giving away free dlc? There’s plenty of games that are already older than halo 3, was ported but there not free so don’t see why I should work hard for my content just so someone who couldn’t be bothered paying any money for one the greatest games in the series.

Basically if people want dlc then pay for it, you were lucky enough to get 1 free dlc. It’s the same old story like the people who couldn’t be bothered celebrating Bungie’s anniversary but still expect blue flames given to them. People just want everything given to them.

PS: You all had 5 years to save up for the dlc.

I don’t think that is a rule, there are free games and DLCs that are free with achievements.

Yeah, they should make all the map packs free, or atleast make them cheaper because the mythic map pack II is still 10 bucks. Alot of the dlc playlist are dead because you have to buy every map pack to play them. So, I think the should make the map packs free or cheaper and make it to where you don’t have to buy every map pack to play dlc playlist.

So all halo 3 map packs are free by now???

> So all halo 3 map packs are free by now???

No, the first one is free, but the rest you have to pay for.

I thought all copies of Halo 3 ODST had Halo 3 Mythic (aka all map packs).
If you don’t have it it’s a great game.
Halo 3 is an old game by now, though, so why not lower the price a bit?

> achievement tied dlc can not be free

why not? its not about the achievements its about the maps

the price of everything goes down one the product gets older. You would deny people free DLC only because you had to pay for it, so self centered, its holding people back from playing the play lists. Free DLC would raise to population. No one wants to spend over 20$ for DLC that is five years old.

Just get ODST…

> Dude, Halo 3 was released in 2007, almost 6 years ago. No one will spend $15 to buy all the map packs for a 6 year old game that averages 300 players in matchmaking. Plus, the market for Halo 3 maps is so infinitesimally small, there is no business reason to charge for the map packs. More egregious, folks without all the DLC are locked out of many of the playlists. 343 or whoever is in charge of Halo 3 multi-player should give fans a break, remove the DLC restriction, and collapse the playlists into FFA, teams, and BTB. It’s the right thing to do.

May as well, since recon helm is free and no one plays much DLC anyway.
