All Mantises need lock-on missiles

The Mantis in this game is really bad. Why, because its main firing system is incapable of doing its job, The only Mantis I use is the ONI Mantis, because it’s what a Mantis is supposed to be (it can lock on). When you get a Mantis you got your weak as hell machine gun and you got multi firing missiles that you can only fire at things that are still or moving slow. It’s pretty useless on on the field in my opinion. Also, why is it that any spartan can run up to me, from the FRONT and hijack it, its bull.
I don’t know why 343 changed the Mantis in Halo 5 but please…make it so all mantises have some sort of lock on feature.

The mantis definitely in its current state does need a buff, as they are very vulnerable and easy to kill imo. But for every version to be lock on… maybe not. I mean, it takes the whole rarity of Regular Vs ONI vehicles. That’s like saying any normal vehicle compared to an ONI needs a buff simply because it’s better.

Naaaaaah. Not something that Over Powered. Maybe more armour? Armour is sucky for all vehicles though. Maybe an all round buff?

Mantis is sooo underpowered. I liked it way more in Halo 4, it was more or less immune to small arms fire, and was a force to reckoned with which required multiple spartans to take down. Now it has weak armour, terrible machine guns and rockets that take soo long to reload and we can’t fire them 1 at a time anymore. Plus the melee attack is terrible now as well. It needs a buff or should be easier to get in req packs and have its req energy lowered.

I get what you’re saying but the Mantis is supposed to have a lock on feature, its what makes the vehicle unique. As for being OP with my idea, then lower the damage

If the mantis has a lock on feature, what will the ONI mantis have? I understand why 343i did what they did, but you have to think what balances what. The mantis does have an advantage of maneuverability, where it can get to places where the Tank and Wraith can’t. But then again, so can the banshee, and you don’t see anyone complaining about them. The mantis definable needs a buff, maybe adding lock on is the right idea, but then the ONI mantis would have to have… Idea, magnetized bullets? (Joking)

TBH… jes the mantis is quite weak in Warzone. It can be destroyed very easy and its shooting mechnisms are terrible…

The Oni mantis is the only one i use too. The other ones ( i got them all) i delete for 200 req points.

um no. in previous halos the mantis has never locked on (to my memory, maybe im wrong). that would make it WAY too easy. what youre saying is lets allow all the noobs to crush us with mantises. no skill will be required. what a ridiculous thing.

theres good r eason only the oni has locked on missles. it is way OP. it is fun, but thats why it takes such high reqs to get it.

Its req level is now 7, instead of 9. Still underpowered though.

Agreed. The Mantis’ offensive capabilities are offensive. The missiles fire slower and hit softer than the tank’s cannon, the machine gun doesn’t do much damage, and the higher profile negates the shielding capabilities.

Crank up the offense on this bad-boy, let the machine gun actually do some damage (ONI Hog gun, anyone?) and either let the missiles track all targets or ramp up their power and projectile speed. Make it worth the req level.

Yes, the Mantis locked on in Halo 4. Look, all I’m saying is they need a lock on feature. They can nerf it all they want but a Mantis needs to lock on.

Although the Halo 4 Mantis didn’t lock to infantry targets, I don’t think it locked to ground vehicles either.

It needs to be a lower REQ level. All of them besides the ONI one are trash.

Or at least faster missiles with higher accuracy.

Honestly the biggest problem with the mantis is the minigun, it is so inaccurate and can stuggle to kill a spartan sprinting at you. Compare it to the detached chain gun which has the accuracy of a sniper rifle. Whilst lock-on missiles would be just lovely for all mantises, I struggle to see how they would buff the ONI Mantis as a result.

I think the radius of the stomp melee needs to be increased to give it more survivability against player boarding. If the melee did more damage you could use the base Mantis very differently than the ONI Mantis. The ONI Mantis is perfect at distance because of the quick lock on. Without the quick lock on and with increased stomp melee damage you would use the base Mantis more as a close up encounter vehicle. With closer encounters the rocket and machine gun spread is minimized and the maneuverability of Mantis compared to other large vehicles gives you a pretty decent killing machine. The base model of any vehicle is not designed to be a powerhouse. You shouldn’t be expecting the base Mantis to be much more than a bullet sponge anyway as any time a Mantis appears on the battlefield the enemy focus is drawn to you.

The ONI Mantis needs a health buff… one tank round will kill you when your mantis’s shields are down, it happened to me in warzone. If an ONI SCOUT HOG takes 2 tank rounds to kill, why can the ONI Mantis only take 1 tank round? Makes no sense at all…

Yeah, I got an ONI Mantis certification. It was disappointing to say the least.
