Actually, “too” is synonymous with “also”. As in “I want to go too.” and “I want to go also.” are both correct.
OP’s use of to, with only one letter O, is the proper usage of to. It indicates he is using the infinitive form of the verb play, “To play”, in his phrase “to play Halo with”.
If you’re going to correct someone, work on your own grammar first.
