Have you ever noticed that pretty much all Halo games that have been released are always shrouded in so much mystery at least until it’s a month or 2 before release? What I mean is most games have at least a gameplay concept kind of footage within a year before release. Halo games there are just the smallest of teasers. I like it but kinda hate it at the same time! GIVE US SOMETHING to hold us over just a taste!
Maybe it’s just me, and maybe I’m wrong - but there’s never been much difference to me as far as the pre-release details from Halo or other AAA game titles. Just seems the norm.

Sometimes absolute secrecy is the best way to maintain the hype factor, as seen with Smash Bros Ultimate. The developers made it an absolute priority that no leaks were to happen before release. Perhaps 343 is doing the same for Infinite.
Well they said they will have the community actively involved in the form of flight programs. I hope we get some sort of beta soon.
Yeah, the announcement of flighting programs does open the lid quite a bit. Just not if they only roll out two months prior to release.
Similar with Star Wars. Secrecy until time to start the hype and marketing train.

Funny thing with Halo fans is that we are all already hyped and we have only seen some shots of nature and his armor (and have subsequently analyzed it to death)

Yeah I think 343 is playing it smart and letting us do the marketing for them. I mean Youtube is full of speculation videos now. And every time Bonnie Ross or someone else even mentions a whiff of something maybe kinda sorta related to Infinite, content creators and game journalists go nuts.

Because we’re so looking forward to if 343 will make their best game, the Halo title we need.
Part of the trouble is how quickly things can change during development, even week to week. In my own job I can be building a feature one week, redesign how it looks or how it functions the next and by the 3rd it’s gone in place of something else. So while those concepts could be shared, there’s a chance it might never end up seeing the light of day - so do you get people excited for things that might end up getting cut, or do you wait until you’ve got a more solid base and idea of what you’re working towards and then start filtering that out to gauge feedback?
