All Halo endings on Legendary facts.

I stick to facts as close as I can when speaking about these endings. I’ll give my thoughts and opinions later.
HALO CE.
This game ends in the destruction of the Installation 4 as John and Cortana escape in deep space. John feels its only the beginning of this war. 343 Guilty Spark is shown traveling into deep space as well.
HALO 2.
This game ends as John is entering Earths orbit on the Forerunner ship from High Charity to finish this fight. Cortana is left behide and shown with Gravemind having a conversation where Gravemind is asking questions and Cortana agrees to answer.
HALO 3.
This game ends with John and Cortana with success of the war. They are both lost in deep space in a nearly destroyed UNSC ship with enough power to sustain life until rescued. Cortana sends out a distress signal confirming it may take months or years before they both are picked up. John says “Wake me when you need me” as he enters cryosleep. The ship is shown drifting towards what appears to be another Installation and as the light brightens from the object, it’s shown to be a mechanical planet.
HALO 4.
This game ends with what appears to be the death of the Didact and Cortana while Earth is saved. John has a moment with Cortana with her explanation of her sacrifice to save him. John is picked up in space by the UNSC and returned to INFINITY where he has a conversation with Captain Thomas J. Laskey about morning Cortana. After that John has his armor removed in front of new Spartans. The Didact speaks of his race compared to the human race and how reclamation has already begun.
HALO 5 GUARDIANS.
This game ends with Cortana activated all the Guardians for reclamation but she loses possession of Blue Team due to the actions Fire Team Osirus. They return to Dr. Halsey as John is finally in the same place in front of Dr. Halsey in a number of years of not seeing each other. The Arbiter and John are also reunited since the events of Halo 3. Final cut shows another Installation with the humming that sounds like Cortana.
All these Halo games have ended with major cliffhanger endings and the set up of things to come. In my opinion Halo 3 left the most mind bending ending with what appears to be Requiem. Bungie and 343 Industries have a taste for the theatrics. All great endings that never seem to end.

At least the other games told good stories within their own game. Halo 5 felt like it was consistently building towards Halo 6 the entire game.

HALO CE legendary ending is nothing of the sort…

lol you ever seen Johnson hug an elite?

Hey sweetie I wasn’t sure about the ending for Halo one and two as I have not played them . Thanks for the filling in.

I see the franchise differently.

I sort of see it all as one whole story regardless of what it’s in. 'Tis the nature of a lively and consistent universe.

Cool thanks for the info

Yup, same here, feels like a buildup for Halo 6.

Yes I have seen the famous hug between enemies, its hilarious and a great moment but it had nothing to do with plot so I choose not to include it. And the ending is very much of the sort. Facts, not opinions, ideas, and feelings. Just the facts.

Reach’s ending would’ve been a major cliffhanger as well, had we not already played CE.

Not sure if Halo Wars counts but remember, “Captain quick, something has happened!”

That ending is bananas and so true. I love when get to kill as many covies at the very til you die. Battle to the death!

I played that game on a profile I had lost info years ago. Those cut scenes are some of the best in the franchise and the music is awesome. It counts as a cliffhanger just like ODST. The Halo franchise storytelling is ongoing. Does not seem to end but slows down at times. I enjoyed Halo 5 Guardians because it shows how John made his own decisions based on his emotions and gut feeling. I do wish they dove deeper with BLUE TEAM’S relationship with each other but Spartan 2’s are very cut and dry due to how they were raised and trained. I would not mind a spin off BLUE TEAM’S Ops as a whole game. 343 INDUSTRIES and Microsoft Studios have so many options to go with the Halo universe.
