This is a list of the easter eggs and references we have so far found in Halo 5. Please note I didn’t include the ‘Xenomorph egg’ easter egg because I don’t think it’s solved yet, so anything about that or that relates to it such as the ‘Banshee Swarm’ easter egg will not be included. Same with most dialog easter eggs because there are too many to write down!

On Meridian Station head to the left hand side of the station until you found a vending machine, hit the buttons several times and then a soccer ball is created, if you score it into a ‘goal’ then the grunt birthday party noise plays, this also creates some funny dialog. - On Glassed after exiting the building, you can find a vending machine inside of a room to the right hand side on the ground floor. Interact with it and it will spawn a magnum, Shotgun and SAW. - On Reunion there is a Grunt sitting on a ledge and singing to himself. The Grunt holds the Grunt Birthday Party skull and will drop it once killed. - On Battle of Sunaion there is a room filled with Grunts worshipping a guardian hologram (I actually found this on launch day and I was crying with laughter as we stormed the room cleaning it of any life….), the song the Grunts are chanting is a piece from the Halo 5 Soundtrack called “Covenant Prayers” (Thank you A Jackle Sniper for this bit of extra information!) - On Alliance you can find an Elite and a Grunt having a friendly chat next to a cliff, the Grunt is named “Dimkee Hotay” (Don Quixote reference, telling of his adventures), and is voiced by Joseph Staten who voiced most the grunts in the first three Halo games (Thank you MrMartin85 for the extra information) - An Intel audio log can be on Alliance. The log is of the Sangheili Vel ‘Trokaik reciting a love poem about Sarah Palmer, before being interrupted offscreen by a Grunt. - On Alliance the checkpoint named “A Whisper in the Storm” has the same name as the first checkpoint as the Halo 2 level “The Arbiter”. - On Blue Team a poster stating “AUTHORIZED FOR USE SO LONG AS IT’S SUPER SECRET ONI STUFF” can be found at various, hard to access emplacements in the level. - On Osiris there are several knives around the entire mission and when shot in order will set on fire and a checkpoint will occur. The room will start to rumble, and then the door explodes. During this time, your weapons will be replaced with a Prophets’ Bane and a Plasma Pistol. You also gain active camouflage as Promethean Knights and the Warden Eternal come through the door located in front. The Warden is much taller than it normally is, and seems to have a little more health. - On Evacuation the chapter title “Sudden but Inevitable Betrayal” is a reference to a scene from the Firefly series, which Buck’s actor Nathan Fillion starred in. - On Swords of Sanghelios the level takes place on the same date as the release of Halo 5: Guardians…but 543 years in the future mind… - Also on Swords of Sanghelios there are two dead elites right outside the council chamber holding hands…awww…… - In Genesis the checkpoint’s name “Call Me Cupid” is a reference to the Halo 2 level Metropolis, during which Sergeant Johnson brings a tank while declaring: "If God is love, then you can call me Cupid!"Multiplayer/Other Easter Eggs

On Plaza in a corner next on top of some bins the location name is called “Oscar’s House”, a reference to Oscar from Sesame Street. - The shell of a sniper that falls to the ground after being shot has “Chief EG-X” written on it. This was also in previous Halo games. - On the bottom of the Halo: CE Magnum the Chinese number seven is written on it. This was also in previous Halo games. - On Riptide there are four hidden Grunt toys around the map. - On Riptide inside one of the plant boxes there is a hidden cube which is Mr Meeseeks box from Rick and Morty. - In the Grifball Court there is a hidden “Timmy the Whale” behind some forerunner blocks. - Using a scoped weapon or theater mode free camera, zoom in on the screen in the turret of a Scorpion Tank. The screen will reveal that the computer of the turret of the Scorpion Tank is powered by an Xbox One or is running the Xbox One’s operating system. The dashboard on this version of the Xbox One is actually the original Xbox One dashboard that was first launched with the Xbox One. It’s also revealed that the last game played was the Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta. - On Coliseum in Red and Blue base there is a small rock which when stood a small distance away from you can see a small creature pop out from underneath. - On The Rig there is a huge creature that can be seen eating another rig in the distance, to activate the Easter egg a player needs to ground pound a platform above the hole in the middle of the map, which will cause two canisters to come out of silos. When the canisters are shot a sandworm will come out of the sand and swallow a distant rig. This entire easter egg itself is a reference to the movie Dune. - In forge if you spawn a can there is some text it, the text is quite small and is easier to see once zoomed in all the way with a sniper rifle or other scope weapon. According to the nutritional facts label, a single serving of a can of Future Pop contains what appears to be 700 calories, 800 grams of sugar, and 500 milligrams of sodium. It also contains 0g of fat and proteins. It is physically impossible for there to be 700 calories with 800 grams of sugar. A single gram of sugar only contains about 4 calories. Therefore, 800 grams of sugar would equate to approximately 3200 calories. - On the home screen if you wait a while a sad lonely grunt will float by.
If you have any easter eggs that isn’t included on this list that please do tell and they will be added!
