All hail the Fuel Rod!

All of us, let us create a thread dedicated to the epicness of the legendary weapon known as the Fuel Rod cannon, and it’s power to decimate everything in that direction to our heart’s content!

Really, really bad weapon, and by that I mean it’s terribly unbalanced for the small arena maps, like regret and the new one. Regret is the worst, whoever controls it basically wins the game. There’s too much ammo with it to start, it should be 1 mag, not 2 or 3. If you use it good you can get 5 kills, 1 with each direct hit.

I am terrible with it, but I have seen people get epic with it.

Nah, it’s OP… and I don’t even like using it either.

Of course it’s OP! It’s a Covenant weapon! What did you expect?

Rocket Launcher’s got a bigger splash radius and lock on…its good against infantry but thats about it.

It can also kill you…

Im so bad with it. The amount of times ive killed myself with it is embarrassing ha

Then you don’t want to try the Rocket Launcher in CQC… I like the Fuel Rod specifically because it’s good in all roles and the risk of suicide is minimal since it has an smaller splash area. It’s large enough to A2/AD an entire room, but small enough to fire it within melee distance without any damage…

I like versatility and enjoy weapons that can work in two different situations and be as effective, hence why I fancy saws and the upgraded ARs too…

That’s why they’re called power weapons, and map control is a requirement.

I agree, it is entirely too powerful for Regret. Often times if you lose a man, you can still hold your own 3v4 and sometimes even still manage a win, but if you lose a man on Regret it’s just a ruining… You’ll be getting wrecked so hard another team mate will quite, then you’re left to getting spawn spanked for 8 mins.

Map control is impossible when you’re a man down.

I like it in Halo 5, compared to most of the launchers next to the SPNKr Rocket Launcher, it’s probably the best launcher in the game(not counting variants of the fuel rod/other launchers of course).

Firstly, you do realise that the whole idea is to control the power weapons and map, right? Halo has been like that forever.

Secondly, instead of rushing fuel rod, you can rush overshield. Then you have a fighting chance against the fuel rod. Easy!

Let’s be honest; In Rod We Trust.

I agree that it makes arena unbalanced, but I feel like compared to Halo 2, the fuel rod got nerfed

ALL PRAISE THE ROD!

i can rock it in Arena, but suck w/ it in warzone!

My most epic kill with the Fuel Rod happened on Riptide. I had just jumped through missing fan blade hole, i think it is, and landed on the ground. In the process of landing I started to get shot from the hallway I just jumped from. With quick thinking I made a brilliant thrust move, and in the process turned in mid air. I’m talking Onyx level maneuvering right here. As soon as I turn and pull the trigger on the Fuel Rod I start laughing in my head because I know this unsuspecting player pick a fight with the wrong Spartan and is about to get served the Green Rod of Justice to the face. Unfortunately I see his body fall limp towards ground. A teammate of mine bopped him from behind… In turn I blasted my teammate in the face for a betrayal.
