All games in the UK are laggy as hell?

So ive just played a few games on MCC…and…they’re all laggy. Halo 2A Rumble, Slayer and SWAT. They need UK servers. From the ‘‘Map’’ thingy Ive seen of server locations I saw the nearest server was in Ireland…But its still so laggy. Why??? C’mon MS…get better servers >.<
