I come to you, Halo community, with a plea for help. Is this achievement actually impossible? I have now spent so many hours just playing Living Dead, and condemned just does not come up. It has not come up to vote for once. Not only that, but I have read that Alpha Zombies and Zombie Ghosts would not count- it has to be pure infection.

So lets do the maths. Say there’s about 12 maps that can come up in the Living Dead playlist. Well, that would make condemned a 1/12 chance at coming up. But realistically, there are many players who do not own the Defiant maps. So, (Although I fear that this may be an over estimate) lets assume that half of the Living Dead players own the map pack. As there is 12 players in a game of infection, and there is a 50% chance that they own the map pack, then we can say that the chances of every player in the game owning the map pack is as low as 0.0002 (this is my reference, http://www.mei.org.uk/files/pdf/formula_book_mf2.pdf. Used the Statistics section at the bottom. ) This shows that the current chances of Condemned coming up is now something like 0.00005 (This is the same as 1 in 20,000 games.

Lastly, lets add the final variable which is the game type. Alpha Zombies comes up most regularly, with infection and Zombie Ghosts slightly behind. I would say that Infection has around a 1/4 chance of coming up. (We now have a 1/80,000 chance of the correct map/gametype coming up.)

Ok, so these are all very changeable variables and only approximate guesses. But I doubt that I’m far off. Without boosting, this achievement is unachievable and this needs to be fixed.

So I’m asking you, is there any other way to get this achievement. I am not a booster- and I would find it sickening to think that there is a Halo achievement which can only be obtained by boosting.

Only yesterday did I finally get the achievement on Halo Wars for getting to general rank (which was a massive headache and terrible achievement in itself) and now I have literally only this last achievement to get and then I have every current halo achievement that there is. So please help me out here. How is this achievement done?

To sum up, for those too lazy to read: The credentials for getting this achievement comes up 1 in every 80,000 games of Halo Reach Matchmaking (approximately). Is there any (non cheating) way of getting this achievement?

Does anyone have anything to sayh about this?

I feel your frustration. And impressive maths, I have no idea if they are correct nor do I want to check. However the your odds of getting condemned seem about right when I was going for the achievement. To answer your original question, no, there is not a non-cheating way to get the achievement unless you do what you have been doing. And if you do someday get condemned, you sir should buy a lottery ticket.

On a related side note… I really hope 343i works on their multiplayer achievements on Halo 4 to ensure they are realistically achievable without cheating. The ones in Halo CEA campaign were great! I had loads of fun doing Breaking Quarantine, This Side Up, Grenadier, or That Just Happened.

But they need to ensure a map or game type comes up in the voting selection frequently for map and game type related achievements like All Alone, Emergency Room, Bounty Hunter, and I even had a hard time finding a 1-flag game for Don’t Touch That.

It isn’t completely impossible, it is all complete luck of the draw.

It is advised to just play with friends who have the Defiant maps and play as normal until you find others who have the maps in Matchmaking.

I eventually gave in on this achievement and just boosted it, but don’t give up hope.

If everyone in the game is playing, you can’t get banned for it, full party boosting is completely fine.

Full party, ie 12 people behind 12 controllers, is a legit tactic and is not bannable so long as all 12 of you are playing.

Best bet is to find 11 buddies with the Defiant maps, have one person delete the Noble and Anniversary map packs and then hop into LD and pray Condemned/Uplink comes up.

But it’s not as easy as that. Not enough people own Halo Reach any more, and many that ever did don’t have the Defiant maps. I could probably get five friends, tops.

It’s not “impossible”.

I got it a few weeks ago and a buddy of mine and his wife got it last night. If you find a lobby where people have the maps just stay with that lobby. Or try searching with friends who have the DLC. Once you have the map in play it’s all up to you after that.

Getting the achievement once the correct map and game type come up should be easy. It’s just getting to that stage…

I can help you man. Having friend that have all DLC will make condemned show up almost every time.

You can get infection on anniversary FFA and the achivement is unlockable through there… Thats how I got it but anniversary FFA will soon be removed in the next update so without it it’ll be almost impossible to get :confused:

When my friend gets off the CoD bandwagon he likes to play alot of infection and we never have played on a DLC map and probably never will. Im guessing the only way to get the zombie DLC achievements is to get a full party.

well if you’ve never been banned, just risk the 48 hour credit ban if the anny cheivies are that important, it sucks but its the fastest easiest way

You forgot the most crucial variable as well, lets assume by some luck of the draw, every person 12/12 people have defiant, lets then also assume that out of the 6 possible maps one of them is condemmed, lets also just for -Yoink- and giggles assume ALL 3 types come up as condemmed, (Even thats stretching it, So you feel really confident, and notice 5 people choose the top most one, your one of those 5, FINALLY YOU GET TO PLAY and get your achievement right??..Wrong because 7 people choose none of the above and the next 3 to populate are sword base…rage quit
