I don’t understand what your question is. Yes, the maps ARE in Living Dead but if you’re searching alone, you have to hope that 11 other people that show up have the Defiant map packs before Condemned/Uplink will show up.
Going in with a large group is the best way to go about it. I’m sorry you don’t want that answer but it is a viable solution.
If you don’t want to do that, then just keep playing. ::shrugs::
Yeah I bought the two map packs (Noble and Defiant) 3 days ago and I have to say I’m really dissapointed (I’m not trying to be a snob here, I’m just trying to convey how disappointed I was after being really excited in anticipation about expanding the Reach experience).
The only way to get to play what you paid for is to play the Squad DLC playlist. The title is misleading though. It should be called “Slayer DMRs on Highlands” or, to a lesser extent “Slayer DMRs on Breakpoint”. I played 30 games in a row on Squad DLC. Many times the choices were something along the lines of:
Team Slayer on Breakpoint
Team Slayer DMRs on Breakpoint
Team Crazy King on Breakpoint
That’s right, 3 choices with the same map. God forbid we ever play anything other than Slayer DMRs, so everyone votes for that…
I would dissuade everyone who is considering purchasing the DLC maps. In terms of value for money, it’s the worst DLC I’ve experienced.
It was a bit better when they were new. But yes, buying them now at original price would likely be a silly idea. I liked the previous halo games where some mappacks would be free after a certain time. Which made them more valuable to everyone, as the people who bought them can now actually play on the maps. And people who get into halo late have a better/larger experience, and probably become more likely to buy a future title.
When I’m in matchmaking and a DLC map comes up I’m usually very surprised. I try to vote for it, but it rarely wins and I end up playing on Countdown for the millionth time. So it’d probably be better not to have them, then I won’t even see the chance of DLC map only to have it torn away during the last seconds of voting.

Make them free and a required download for halo reach and they can get rid of the DLC playlist, that way you could play on the maps in any game type. New life could be given to these maps. I want to play breakpoint but I’m not going to dish out the $$$ if I’m not going to get to use it outside of forge editing.
I’m not buying anymore map packs for that reason. No point if I have to go to a DLC section to play them. Making the map pack free after a few months, including them in a required update, and ultimatly in a regular slayer and BTB rotation is the best way to go.
