All According to Plan... Achievement

Achievement description:

“Kill all the enemies in the first encounter of “Truth and Reconciliation” without being detected.”

Okay I feel like I’ve done this several times and haven’t gotten this achievement, so I must be thinking I’m in the first encounter when I’m not. Is the first encounter the first covies you encounter immediately after exiting the Pelican?

I’ve killed every enemy without them ever noticing me and then my marines move in because I’ve cleared it out, but as soon as they move in more covies come in from another area. Do I have to kill those covies too without being seen?

You may be missing a single sleeping grunt. And no, you don’t have to kill the patrol that wanders in around the corner.

I did this on Legendary with Bandana skull on. Used only the sniper to kill every enemy and didn’t walk up the path on the right i shot everyone from the first rock on the right. Its easy to see all the enemies on Classic Mode. If you do it on co-op (which i did again for a friend) your friend can kill every enemy and then you’ll get the achievement.

Just some pointers:

  1. Most enemies will be patrolling once you start killing sleeping grunts. Sit back and see if an enemy will go to the corpse to “investigate” what happened.

  2. Always assume an enemy is around any corner. Take all corners slowly and move back on any movement quickly.

  3. Do not ever advance into the “battlefield” area. The corner patrols will emerge when all enemies have been eliminated automatically.

  4. Take personal care and timing with elites on legendary. The shields will be the only thing dropped on the first shot. It will take 2 shots to kill them and it is very easy to give away your position if you miss either of those shots, recommended to wait till they are in the complete open before firing.

  5. Turret grunts in the back will require special attention, if done co-op, have one sniper per turret area as other enemies will rush. Solo, give each turret a 30 second (one one-thousand, two one-thousand…) “watch” as I’ve had everything from a sleeping grunt automatically move to it, or worse, an elite just hops in and boom, position gone no matter where you are.

Happy hunting…

Finally got it. There were a couple of sleeping grunts right underneath the cliff on the right side. Couldn’t see them until I slowly inched into the battlefield area. I got them before triggering the patrols. Thanks peeps.
