I’m just bad enough at the game that I can’t keep track of how many enemies and teammates are alive, and clicking the back button takes precious milliseconds.
I would want a HUD element that shows how many alive/dead players there are, just like in H5 Breakout, but make it available in all arena game modes (CTF, Oddball, KotH, etc.)
Thoughts?

In the one of the books, I think Fall of Reach, on Chief’s HUD there were dots next to his teams service numbers. The dot was lit a different color based on their vital signs. Green for healthy, orange for critical, and red for dead. I’ve wanted this to be added to the HUD ever since I read the books. They could put your team on the left of the HUD and foes on the right. If it’s too cluttered for some, make it toggleable. I’d make it so the dot is green for full shields, orange for damaged shields, and red for currently dead on spawn timer.

If you could see when your enemies are “orange”, that could be paired with grenades to essentially be grenade hit markers… and we all know how much those sucks. Other then that, yeah super cool.

Good point, maybe just show green and red for foes to fix that. Knowing when your enemies shields are damaged in general is problematic.
Maybe with your personal AI you can also customise your HUD or maybe program commands to the D-pad in which it gives relevant data. Like in your case the amount of alive players
I think the problem of knowing if your teammates are dead or alive without pulling up the scoreboard has already been solved because generally you can see your teammate’s tag or arrow above their head floating around through walls. This arrow generally is blue but turns a different color(often red or yellow) when the teammate is shooting. This turns into a red x depending on the Halo game when the teammate dies. In Halo Infinite it seems like you’ll be able to see a blue outline or silhouette of your teammates through walls when you are close enough to them. The arrows may also be back but that is still to be determined.
In terms of enemy deaths and status that should be intentionally left on the scoreboard only for non-elimination type game modes because having all that knowledge on whether an enemy is alive or dead really isn’t super important in something like Slayer. I generally just assume that there could always be an enemy around the corner waiting for me. Plus if the motion sensor is actually useful unlike Halo 5 then you have all the situational data you should need for a fight without it going too overboard.
I think should be customisable, I am all for having a HUD you can add or remove elements of.
Personally I don’t want to see how many teammates are alive on my HUD, I will just being up scoreboard.

I would disagree. It is super important to know how many enemies are still alive, especially in objective game modes. You need to know when to push for the flag, or play the ball, or if they’re all spawned, so that you can block spawns, etc. And the radar is usually disabled in competive settings, so…

yeah. teammates alive is kind of redundant because it looks like we’ll be able to see our teammates’ outlines in Infinite, but I definitely would like to know how many enemies are alive. Having it togglable would make it nothing but good.
Make it like the fireteam thing in the Reach campaign where you could see the infantry following you, how many of them are there, and so forth, put it right next to the radar.
for me I don’t find it interesting to have a configuration to have this.

Radar most likely won’t be in competitive settings, but yeah. I think it would look better that way.
Great idea! I’d love to have this. It’s useful to be able to see your squad’s vitals and status. I use that kind of thing all the time in MMO games like The Elder Scrolls Online and it makes a huge difference on my tactical thought process.
