Alcohol and impulsive REQ Pack buying

It was a cold, lonely, Tuesday night, around 10 O’clock. It was me, myself and my beautiful beers and a prepaid credit card staring right back into my eyes. It was telepathically talking to me, “You know there’s 60 bucks on this, come on, spend me, get those 20 beautiful Gold REQ packs, you’re getting so close to 100% completion [I was at about 85% total completion] and then you will have all cosmetic and be able to stack power weapons/vehicles galore!”

I gave in, I punched in every last digit of that credit card and got my REQ pack high. The sounds, the colours, the excitement of seeing what beauty is being unlocked (I got Eh ARR and Locke and Loaded skins!), it’s incomparable to anything I’ve experienced in a game, it just makes you feel amazing when you open up those packs, even if it’s mostly luck based.

But sadly, shortly after, I felt immense feelings of guilt, shame, giving into micro transactions when I swore I never would. Remembering that I was supporting 343’s game that was released incomplete and lied to us saying the free updates every month were bonuses when that content should’ve been initially included in the game from the start. Thinking of how many groceries, bills I could’ve paid, better things I could’ve put that money to… I guess the alcohol made me lose a little bit of my inhibition, but what can I say, it was an impulsive decision and I will never get that 60$ back.

I will say this, be careful of impulsive REQ Pack buying, I know it’s tempting because it’s so easy and accessible, but just say no. Grind it out, play your games, and earn those packs.

There are these guys I play Battlefield 4 with and they are always drinking, it is quite easy to beat them lol.

All your money goes toward the starving slaves working at the 343i technology plantation. Harvesting Grunts, Jackals, Hunters, and Elites for up coming halo titles. (Right now they are slaving on making the brutes presentable for halo wars 2). Your impulsive buying allows 1 employee/slave to be fed one slice of bread for that night.

just replace the appropriate words with scout warthogs

this also may (most likely) not be true

Don’t drink while mictotransactioning

I think this is the best post I have ever seen on these forums. Fantastic.

They need to put this in the fine print underneath the micro transaction description lol.

I am guilty of drinking and req pack buying… I was playing some warzone and had me a good beer buzz and said… I want my yoinking H2BR… so I bought the $99 gold pack bundle… I was already through silver’s and has a nice amount of golds I think… but I did get my H2BR and it is awesome

I’m sure he drank all the remaining beers after this happened

There there… let out your emotions, doesn’t it make you feel free?

I think someone needs to start the “REQ impulse sessions” or “RIS” for short, it would work like one of those groups where you start the meeting saying your name, and then everyone says hello in unison.

There’s nothing micro about those transactions, anything over £10 is full on dlc prices , for a gamble, a roll of the dice which I know wouldn’t satisfy me.

Disclaimer: Microsoft and/or 343 Industries are not responsible for any regrettable purchases of REQ packs while under the influence of alcohol. Please drink responsibly. No refunds will be provided.

If only I could make this text really, really small, just like actual fine print.

Lol actually when I bought the packs I was well past my Silver Pack opening days so I did get quite a lot of Legendary stuff. I’m at about 90% total completion now… and I’m gonna be playing Halo all night and there’s beers in the fridge… Gulp… 0_x

I’m personaly against buying REQs. I wont do it. Not even drunk me thinks about this because I don’t care about H2BR’s or 100% completion.

But I sure hope you’ve learned your lesson OP;)

Cheers.
