So here’s something kind of interesting and kind of stupid. A Russian man by the name of Dmitry Itskov has come up with a four step program to achieving immortality. The funny thing is that the end result seems almost identical to Smart AIs like Cortana. You can read about it here.
Basically the projects is divided into stages A, B, C and D. Stage A is supposed to begin in 2015 and go until 2020. In this stage he will create robot bodies that can be controlled remotely. Stage B (2020-2025) takes the robot bodies and implants a brain of someone who just died. Stage C (2030-2035) ditches that mushy brain we’ve been hanging onto for all this time and transfers everything into an artificial brain (starting to sound familiar). Then comes Stage D (2040-2045). In this stage we completely ditch the robotic bodies and replace them with, you guessed it, holographic avatars. Thus we enter an age of naked, blue holographic women.
Though I think this is all pretty farfetched, I thought the parallels with Halo were fairly amusing and I hope you do too.
