So since the campaign is confirmed to be (SEMI) open world, I think there’s going to be an abundance of opportunities where you could legitimately soak in the atmosphere of the Zeta halo skies as you’re airborne in something like, a banshee. How high could you fly? What’s the limit? And if you could fly at high altitudes, could you abandon the vehicle and fall safely on ground without any damage? Like Halo 3?
Vehicle hijacking is going to be absolutely insane in the campaign because you’re definitely going to have moments where you’re fighting with banished forces in the sky, and if you have a grappling hook you could probably stylishly hijack another manned vehicle, if yours is in a doomsday state. That’s exciting.
It would be cool if there were “flying challenges” like gliding challenges in the Batman Arkham games, where you have to hit every checkpoint quickly before a time limit. There could also be online leaderboards for those challenges for good measure too, so if you’re not saving marines or walking down the Golden path, you’re competing with other players.

I would like achievements for this or even armory unlocks related to said challenges!
Guessing there will be a fairly low altitude limit, so you can’t just fly straight over the highest mountains and stuff, the environment will still present obstacles that way. They could explain it by saying the ring has a relatively thin atmosphere layer, and the Banshee and Wasp etc are designed for in-atmosphere flight, not for going into space… even if maybe that conflicts with previous games showing the Banshee in space lol
I’m more hoping that the missions still play out like Halo missions with an end goal and a few surprises along the way. A huge map full of quests and interest points would be a very different kind of game, I hope it’s just large areas to explore and some places to explore outside the main play area so the missions just feel open and expansive. I especially hope there’s no driving up to a marker and “hit X to start mission” type of deals.
it would be cool to drive a pelican and a phantom in campaign

It was said that the missions were going to be fairly linear like in previous Halo’s, just a lot more expansive and free. There seems to be a big emphasis on choices.

Sounds good! Now I just hope the campaign gets a mature rating and there’s grunty blood by the bucket load.
