Aiming Issue, Just doesn't feel right

Folks, is anyone else experiencing this sort of loose and sloppy aiming thing, many of my games are afflicted with the below problem where I’ll be on a target and then it’ll do this circular motion around it or feel like I’m being repelled. I know the real answer is I’m bad at shooting, but putting that aside it seems to me there is something off with the aiming. My current settings are 1 acceleration and 1% inner deazone and 0% outer using an elite controller.

Anyway, that’s my problem. I enjoy the game it’s just the aim is frustrating me right now.

Whats your look sensitivity? I don’t know anything about the elite controller. Sorry. Was looking to buy one though…
Mine is
Sensitivity: 5
Acceleration: 2
Inner: 4%
Outer: 9%

I’m at:
Sensitivity: 3
Acceleration: 1
Inner: 1%
Outer:0%

It’s a good buy, the paddles make a big difference.

i cant finish any 1o f lately.
i blame myself and the -Yoinking!- US servers but yea, kind of done. cant wait for the division

Does it feel slow or fast for you? Your current control settings* Plus you’re forcing a lot of your shots. I’ve noticed that when the guy starts to fall from his jump you didn’t adjust your aim, you kept shooting. Might wanna look into that too, its a known mistake everyone does. Idk if the controls can remedy that though, but the problem with that is the aim assist.

Another thing to note is that the lower the deadzone is for inner, the less input it is required for it to go full speed. Well in my case that seems to be the problem for me.

Not a personal problem its called ‘H5 aiming is -Yoink-’

Halo 5 aiming kind of sucks especially with the sniper rifle, it just doesn’t work well. I liked the original zoom from the classic Halo games better.

Same, 343 have really messed up with this

I guess the answer here is “get gud”. thanks fellas.

P.S. don’t mind the sniper aiming at all.

lol for me I have to slow down before aiming. I’ve noticed that for the sniper rifle you gotta actually “connect” the shot. So make sure its a good lock or you’ll miss, so i’m assuming that is the same for any semi-auto weapon.

I have also had loads of trouble aiming in Halo 5. Problems I did not have in previous Halo titles. You’ve got me as to what to do about it. I’ve read that the default settings are no different than previous titles ie aim acceleration and deadzone default settings…but the game definitely feels different and seems to be more challenging. I’ve settled in at Sensitivity 4 and Aim acceleration 1. I messed with the controls a lot and it was tough to figure out where to put things after getting the elite controller…it too felt different than the standard controller.

Another quick tip is to plug in your controller. I have connectivity issues with my controller, most of which doesn’t show up in other games…but really manifested in Halo 5. Plugging in my controller helped with the stuttering or slow then fast aim. Its still tough. I kept track of my hit percentage through games to see what I was doing best with. To some extent its what you get used to. I think the auto aim and aim acceleration don’t play well together in Halo 5. In previous titles I didn’t even know there was aim acceleration, but in this game I can feel it. Sometimes it also feels like the aiming and acceleration functions differently in different matches. I also notice hit detection issues like direct hits with a rail gun that don’t register…I think there are some glitches that may not be very visible, but lead to frustration and confusion.

Yeah, I’m completely wired with my controller
