Aiming is the most inconsistent mechanic in Halo 5

I can’t even play this game with any sort of skill because of it. If you can’t aim, nothing else matters.

In what way can you not aim? What is the problem with the aiming that you are experiencing?

The aiming in Halo 5 is the hardest since Halo:CE.

It’s part of the high skill ceiling. Consistent aiming is absolutely possible, it just takes skill.

Watch any pro match. Their aiming is immaculate.

I disagree, there’s always one thing consistent with the aiming system.

You gotta fight the aiming system itself just to turn 90 degrees.

No it isn’t. It’s just flat out inconsistent. Sometimes it’s way too easy to hit shots, sometimes the reticle flies right over everything. Cant believe people say this game is the most skillful of all Halos. It’s just disgusting.

The aiming sucks in this game. Its the aiming acceleration, which cant be turned off. This is why so many people have stopped playing this game. You cant say this is a skill based aiming system, and give us this acceleration and slow diagonal mechanic. This is awful…

You can adjust the aim acceleration to pre Halo 5 levels. I did this, and my aim drastically improved.

I can’t speak for everyone. but if you mess with your aim acceleration and dead zones, you should be able to find your sweet spot. I changed my aim acceleration to 2 and changed the dead zones to 0%, and it feels like previous Halo games.

I have a hell of a time aiming in this game. I think people stop and laugh at me when I am shooting at them. Then I die. I have changed my settings and all that and it’s no better.

I feel like it’s the ground pound and sword lunge are the two most inconsistent things.

The only thing I have a problem with is the spartan magnetism. Like when I’m about to kill some guy and my reticle pulls towards a new spartan with a full shield. I either can’t pull away or I overcompensate and then die without getting a single kill.

You can adjust the acceleration for hours, it never gets fuly turned off. 0 or 5, the acceleration is always there… and it’s game breaking.

I’ve tried lots of settings without relief. I think my K/D actually went down since the 1st big update.

Obvious troll

Yeah aiming can be a real pain.
Best thing really is to adjust setting g. Play for a hour or so. Take a bit to get use to different set. And just keep tweeking.
Also the elite controller does amazing things with halo 5… if you looking for a quick way to improve.

Also grief ball… no aim req…

You know, I honestly wish I was trolling, but sadly I’m not. I love this game too much to see it all go down the drain. I just wish 343 could see what they’re doing to this legendary franchise, aiming aside.

They can talk about skill all they want, the fact is that aiming and shooting in this game are just off. It has never felt right.

When professional players are swapping their aim settings in middle of a high stakes tournament, there’s something very wrong with your aiming system.

The pros are complaining about the aiming system as well.
I’m pretty sure a professional driver can drive a car with flat tires, doesn’t mean it doesn’t have flat tires.

Pretty sure the servers are the least consistent thing about this game.
