From the first moment I played this game Tuesday the stick control felt off, having trouble just point my gun at an enemy. I tried various levels of sensitivity and no luck, I have played a lot of FPS games and though I wont claim to be a superstar I can hold my own usually. Reaching breaking point in frustration, I quit and left it and came back tonight hoping ‘maybe it was just me’. But no, the stick control is broken, I just tried again and I just made this video to show.
The sensitivity is set to 7 (I have tried other levels, all the same).
First I hold the right stick all the way left, then all the way right, just look at the difference in speed I aim (turn) left then right! Its totally BROKEN!

I don’t think it is. I’ve heard wide spread reports of this happening. It’s happening on 2 of my controllers, one of which is two years old, one of which is about 2 weeks old. Additionally, my friend has a brand new elite controller, and he’s having the exact same problem.
Hopefully they fix this soon, I honestly can’t play with this happening. I’ll get into a firefight with someone and they’ll run to my right and I’ll simply be unable to look at them because my aiming will be so slow. It’s awful.
Honestly in the few hours I’ve played halo 5 I haven’t noticed that so I’ve booted my xbox one to test that and I couldn’t reproduce that the sensivity is equal to both left and right(from 1 to 10).
Thats called slow turn. Thats not the game, thats the potentiometer in your controller.
You either have to solder in a new joystick module. Or you can sand down the plastic on the affected side of the controller shell so the stick can move farther over. Or get a new controller.

I am experiencing a similar problem. I have my controller sensitivity set to 10 and I feel like I can’t turn fast enough. In previous Halo games my sensitivity is set to 6 or 7 and its faster than 10 in Halo 5.
I’ve used the same controller to play other games and don’t have that problem. As a matter of fact, it was the first thing I noticed when I jumped into multiplayer.
This maybe a long shot but have you tried updating your controller?
I had some issues with my new Master Chief controller and updated it the other day.

No. This is a pretty widespread issue exclusive to this game. Thousands of people’s controllers didn’t suddenly take a dump on Tuesday morning.

There’s a name for people like you. It’s called “thief.”
In order to test if the controller’s at fault. Try another FPS and see if the problem is still there. If it isn’t, it’s Halo 5. If it is, it’s the controller.
