Aiming in Halo Infinite is not good enough

I never implied that 343 couldn’t do anything right. I said it was weird how 343 previously fixed the aiming for mcc yet screwed up infinite’s.

Maybe read the post?

Actually no, that’s ad hominem. See, my objections and opinions are to your opinions and tactics. Not you. You’re the one really making this a personal issue, Hyper. With that I am truly done, have the last word as you please and try not to get too frustrated when unconstructive criticism isn’t received well.

Hyper, stop trying to drag me back in to your… whatever this was… by quoting me in edits to your posts. I’ve no interest in a measuring contest against you; let it go.

To be fair 343 did change Infinite’s response curve and aim assist from previous Halo’s. The system is completely new. There are known bugs as well on both console and PC that haven’t been fixed despite being acknowledged by 343 employees on Twitter and Reddit 6+ months ago.

I literally tried to tell him that but he already had made up his mind. It’s my fault for being “bad” at the game.

There’s people all over the internet criticizing Infinite’s aiming but sure. It’s my fault.

Check HaloTracker, very interesting indeed.

If you want I can hand over my settings. I gave them to a friend and they were extremely helpful.

Like yeah the aiming in this game is weird until you find good settings. This is definitely something that 343i should look into, because past 5, some options don’t even register as changing.

Thanks, but that won’t be necessary. I’ve tried switching beforehand all that does is screw up my muscle memory with no payoff.

Plus, I already have a good sens.

Wait, I don’t think HaloTracker is working right. Seems like the loss of Halodotapi scrubbed some of the data off.

My last game on there shows as being in December 14th, 2021 when it should be showing it as September 6th, 2022.

As much as I’d love to roast the hell out of that guy for being so uninformed and hostile, I gotta give him the benefit of the doubt stat-wise.

Works fine for me. It updates regularly.

Their team is also over worked and instead of paying for a larger team, they pay for contractors.

All just to avoid paying them health benefits.

Are you talking about aiming on controller, mouse and keyboard or both in general? I haven’t experienced any issues. Granted my sensitivity is always 5-7 depending on the game.

I think your frustration involves more so the lack of bullet magnetism and aim assist the game has. Which frankly I like. It’s one of the few positives about Halo Infinite in my opinion.

Aiming on the controller is where my issues lie. The short version is, 343 did not bring over the same aiming curves that MCC is using. Because of that, aiming feels very weird and uncomfortable to use. It’s because it’s impossible to use, but it’s just a chore.

Long version is, the aiming suffers from a combination of issues from which aim assist might be contributing to. I’m not totally sure about the aim assist yet because of a lack of info, but I do have info on the sensitivity and acceleration curves. Those two curves are what I believe to be the main cause of the discomfort plauging aiming.

MCC’s did things better which is why I want 343 to model their aiming system or at least copy it over.

Alright no offense man, but aiming is 100% easy and simple. I thought you were talking mouse and keyboard because those players are expecting nothing but pain and have zero voice or support. 343 has always addressed issues for controller players where as mouse and keyboard players were basically given the cold shoulder or middle finger. They have it far worse.

Sure MCC is probably more intuitive and better but I don’t think it’s that drastic of a difference. The real crime is the lack of support mouse and keyboard players are given. That needs to be fixed right now.

From my experiences, Halo Infinite controller aiming is subpar. Regardless of which input plays better, issues are issues. Aiming quality across the board appears to be quite poor.

Just want to let you know that I’m not person running things at 343, nor am I advocating against MKB getting help. I want the same things you do.

Hi there, I’ve been saying since the beta flights that aiming feels bad. Problem is that people have been given so many tools to change aiming settings that people don’t think of it as an issue at all and that’s its just a matter of picking the settings that are the least bad and “having to get used to it”.

Controller has been feeling bad, aim assist is downright badly designed, magnetism (both bullet and reticle) are way smaller than previous games and ontop of that movement speed has increased, inertia is gone and the movement+aiming issues are further compounded by the netcode problems.

I believe I’ve seen you around the forums before. I recall the exact same experience when playing the second flight around Sept of 2021. Aiming felt “off.” Very off.

I was expecting 343 to move toward’s MCC’s style of aiming. Not this.
